Welcome to week sixty-three of our quest. :D You know what's special about this week? Er...neither do I. Carry on.

Your challenge this week is to put a fantasy or historical fiction character in a present-day setting (500+ word short story/excerpt). Bonus of two points if you make a new character to do it with.

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

I'm pretty sure you can do just the weekly challenge. I don't think you need to do a personal goal.

Of course it's allowed. :D You can just do the challenge, or do the challenge and a personal goal, or just a personal goal.

Weekly challenge
Time zone: Pacific Standard

This might force me to write a story. :P I need to write a short story for my collection and Eleutheria's contest; and it has to have a female character. I need motivation... maybe I'll actually succeed this week...

Personal Challenge Completed.
Weekly Challenge Completed with a New Character for the Bonus Points. To do this multiple times, do you only get points if you do it with three different people, or does writing a story three times the wordcount count as well? (I got carried away. :P) If the latter counts, mine was over 1,500 words, but if not that's okay.

I posted what I wrote for the weekly challenge here if anyone's interested.

Oh, right...I did a new character as well. But I suppose it's too late to report that. :P

Oops. Me, too, Juliet.

Aratrea, the post says 500+ words. I know mine is quite a bit longer than 500 words, too.

Katharina is correct that it only counts for doing it once--still, great job! :D You got lots of writing done.

Awesome! *opens to read later* ^_^

Great job everyone. :D I'm sorry I forgot to do this yesterday... :P You have until midnight Tuesday to make your goals--you'll just have less time to do them in if you wait that long to make them.

Scoreboard.

Thread.
