Welcome to week thirty-three, fellow questers! :D

Your goal this week is to write a minimum 500 word worldbuilding article about yearly holidays/celebrations in your world.

Your NaNo goal this week is to 2 points for each of the below being included in your novel: a natural disaster, an assassin, a deadly piece of jewelry, and/or live music played by a character.

Wait. What are NaNo goals?
I was just going to tell you. ;) For the rest of October and the month of November, we will be hosting extra goals that will either help your NaNo experience, or make it more...shall we say..interesting.

Can I do them even if I'm not doing NaNo?
For certain! They are quite likely to be able to be applied to normal writing, so help yourself to the extra points. :D

Remember, in order to receive points for completing the weekly challenge, you MUST declare it by Monday at midnight.

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

WRITE! *sets off Roman candles*

I won't have access to internet from the 15-18. Can I tell you the monday I get back that I completed my goals or do I have to complete them before I leave?

As long as you complete them by the deadline, you can PM me when you get back, and I'll take your word for it.

Awesome goals! My novel already includes an assassin and a natural disaster.

That also raises some questions as to how to do this, since I haven't actually started my novel yet. Does plotting out those parts count? Or can I include the NaNo goal in my personal goal by making my personal goal that of writing a certain plot summary that would include summarizing these events? :P (Boy, this is getting confusing.)

Okay! In that case...

NaNo Goal
Weekly Goal
Personal Goal: Write Elias's Character Plot Summary This is the plotting I was talking about, that would include writing about those events, so I suppose that is inclusion of the weekly goal? *Has never completely understood how to include the weekly goal*
Timezone: CST

I reached above and beyond 20k words!! :dieshappy: I also put an assassin in my book, but he was stopped before he could do anything. It still counts right? I also had a girl sing in the book, but she didn't have a musical instrument. Not sure if that one counts either :/ sorry :P

Well it looks like I made the goals before I had to go. Yay!

@Riah - The idea is to write those parts (or plot them, in Azlyn's case) this week, though. ;)

All goals hereby failed. :P *Headdesk, headdesk, headdesk* When will I ever learn that I don't have much writing time when life is so busy? I suppose I wanted the extra points when I declared them and they fit into my novel so nicely that I didn't think it through. :P Faith, you certainly don't have to worry about me catching up to you any time soon! *is consistently going backwards*

Jeremiah, when you poke people to declare goals next week, can you remind me to make a nice small goal? :P

Aww. :'( Yes, I shall try and do that.

Personal goal completed, and nano goal completed, I incorporated the assassin, deadly piece of jewelry, live music, and a natural disaster into my story.
