What do you know about weapons from the 1950s to the 1990s? Do you have any favorite weapons from this time period? If you have a story set during the 1950s to the 1990s, what weapons do you have in your story? Do you have any questions about weapons from the 1950s to the 1990s that someone on the forum might be able to answer? |

With this particular piece of time, that's a little bit hard to make distinct. On the one side, we have WWII, and on the other, we have now. I don't know why, but the first weapon from this era to come to mind was the stun gun. |

I posted a video link in the Science Lab that includes information about U.S. military rifles during this period: http://www.holyworlds.org/historical/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=716 |

Oh my goodness, where to start? I have personally fired the AR-15. Don't remember much on recoil, but it was fun. Rest of these are from reputation only: SIG-Sauer P226 pistol SIG-Sauer P228 pistol Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun FN-P90 submachine gun MP7 submachine gun Steyr AUG Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle |

Oh, also, does anyone know what pistols/handguns existed from before 1980, particularly ones that would be used by police departments? |

I'm a big fan of both the M1 Garand and the M14 (a modified/updated Garand). I also love the Colt 1911. The Garand and 1911 saw service in the Korean War, and the M14 and 1911 were used in Vietnam and beyond. In fact, the M14 is still widely used today (Iraq and Afghanistan), and at least as of a few years ago, Navy SEALs received a stipend to purchase their own custom 1911s. From what I recall, most police forces used revolvers prior to 1980. In particular, Smith and Wesson revolvers seemed to be the favorites, although I'm not sute what calibers they tended to use (maybe .38 special?). |

Also, the Israeli Tavor is pretty sweet too, although it's a newer (post-1990s) design. |
