Okay, so... there was a story idea I got a while back. I wanted to write a book about a Scottish coal mining family.

The problem is, I had no clue what time era to research. Sometime in the 1800s, I reckon. It's hard to find information on it though, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has any good resources or what-not I could use.

As in... Scottish coal miners in Scotland, or in America, or elsewhere?
