I was discussing the pros and cons of dried Italian Seasoning with my mom when I came up with this. :rofl:

It's a race of small, dragonfly-winged people who inhabit herb gardens. They are green for camouflage, but they use discarded insect exoskeletons as clothing, so they can appear quite colorful. They use rosemary stems as javelins. I am not sure yet if they are beneficial or detrimental to the health of the herb garden they haunt, but we'll see.

This is all I have so far, but I'm thinking of doing some sort of fairytale rewrite with them. ^_^

Do they hunt bugs? What do they eat? How do they build their houses? What are their natural predators?

They do hunt bugs. They eat plants and bugs. I assume they use mulch or something to build little huts. Birds are their natural predators, as are snakes.

Do they interact with humans at all? Perhaps use human artifacts in their homes? Do they live alone, or do they have tribes and family groups of some sort? Are they nomadic, or do they tend to make home somewhere?

They tend to avoid humans, for fear of being mistaken for a very large bug and being squashed. However if little trinkets are lost outside, they'll take them, especially if they have fasteners or string, like bracelets. I think they live in tribes, probably centered around whichever plant they like best. They would only move away if they didn't like the garden after settling down, or if there wasn't enough food.

Ooh, I love this! Do different tribes have different insect exoskeletons they like to use, or do they all just basically pick whatever they want?

They could use them to sneak up on prey like the Indians who would dress up in wolf pelts to sneak up on bison. :D
