| Post subject: | Character Interview: Gih |
His history: Gih was born in a small town west of Da-Lit, two years after Rhins was born. Because Denvva and Argen’s royalty position, the Duke and Duchess of Da-Lit, they couldn’t always spend time with the three. Denvva and Argen had the boys tutored at home, a customary culture in Dajîlian royalty; Gih’s teacher was strict and always wanted him to be on time, to keep emotions to himself and to control his anger. All were very vital, except the last. Gih grew up unlike his brothers, silent and always watching what would happen, always taking things in and keeping it for later use; Duke Argen had sent Ahdon to Londér (which he was happy about) to study and Gih to Phed (who wasn’t exactly the happiest person). Gih traveled to Phed by ship and had seen a wild storm just at the brink of tossing the ship into the ocean. He arrived at a village pier and took the road to the Ancient Castle of Asuil. He was taught by the King Dentala’s own advisor, the other royalties’ own tutor. All the sons of lords and whatnots had snubbed him due to him not being a Phoed, and he took refuge in silence; where he used it as a defense and a weapon. The royalties (children) only respected him when he won at fencing in their annual games. They befriended him after that, but he still kept a to himself due to their first impression of him. He studied in Phed for five years, and left when he was twenty; he arrived back in Dajîl and slowly came to the rank of major through eighteen years. He kept contact with his Phed connections the whole time and pleaded them to stop the war between Dajîl, Chel and Phed. (a story for another day) He fought for Dajîl and held the City of Goods/Da-Mit against the attacking Phoeds; Gih was held down by King Dentala’s men to watch his older brother get stabbed to death. During the war he was scarred from the right temple through the right of his eye all the way down to the left side of his neck; he became half blind in his right eye because of the cut. He doesn’t consider the scar to be a badge of honor, but the mark to remind him of his failure. Gih is a Major General and commands a whole entire brigade. He commands the officers under him to either train to function and whatnot. Without him the whole brigade cannot function; he is very smart and analytical. Gih isn’t married, nor has he dated anyone. Nor does he plan to have anything about marriage or family. He is always on time and very disciplined, when people don’t do things right he gets angry. He actually has a hard time keeping cool, to stay calm thinking of his horse, Evergreen. One of the treasured beings he loves; he also loves animals and nature. Despite all circumstances he will not react to any situation unless someone will give an order to do so. He learned psychology in Phed, and he uses it on a daily basis and understands what people think of him. Specially with his face. |

He knows what people think of him – what do they think of him? Does he like what they think of him, or does he feel unhappy about his relations to the people around him that he meets? Why does he love animals? Is he as hard on them as he is on the people under him, always strict and so on? What does he consider to be his worse failure? What is the reaction most people have when they meet him and see the scar? |

Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: He knows what people think of him – what do they think of him? This will also answer your last question; when they see his scar, and when he doesn't talk, they'll think of him to be very antagonistic and scary, dark, mysterious, and unsociable.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: Does he like what they think of him, or does he feel unhappy about his relations to the people around him that he meets? No, definitely not. And yes, he does feel unhappy.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: Why does he love animals? He took care of Ahdon's pet (a dog) before he was sent to Phed and became close to other animals.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: Is he as hard on them as he is on the people under him, always strict and so on? No, he can love an animal unlike people; though he doesn't know the reason why. *thinks* Maybe he's scarred he'll love people like animals.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: What does he consider to be his worse failure? Not able to hold back the forces of Phed in a certain city; thus the reason Rhins's died.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: What is the reaction most people have when they meet him and see the scar? They usually won't talk to him, or avoid him.

Does he have any ways, good or bad, of handling his unhappiness and his lack of good relations with people, and his memories of the war with Phed and Rhins' death? |

Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: Does he have any ways, good or bad, of handling his unhappiness and his lack of good relations with people, Yep, mostly bad. He hasn't found any good way yet, he smokes (cigars, dunno why) when he's alone mostly after retiring for the day.Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: and his memories of the war with Phed and Rhins' death? That, he douses with some strong drink. Which brings him to very deep sleep where he won't have nightmares of the war.
