| "Worlds Within" is my new project, based on every myth out there, from faries to merfolk. I am having trouble world-building my fairy land and was wondering if anyone could help. I want to have castles and maybe make it a little like Earth... I don't know. When you hear the term fairy land what do you think it looks like? Thanks! | |

| I think of forests and magic. Maybe hollowed-out trees and lots of celebrations and dancing. | |

| Open fields and dancing rings in the grass. | |

| Bright colours and dancing and things alive as shouldn't be. You know... live door knobs and trees and breezes. And ghostliness. Inhuman ideas. | |

| Ello stranger! Well, there's portals. And circles, those are significant. And dragons I'll be more helpful later, I just wanted to get something on this thread so I don't lose it *nods* | |

Nothing can die there, so they change evil-doers into inanimate objects for amazingly long periods of time to punish them. I really like Shadow Castle – if you want some inspiration, Angelsword, the fairy land in that book is one of my favorite ones along the light-hearted lines. | |

| 'Shadow Castle', by Marian Cockrell. It's a lovely book. Mama loved it when she was young, and then she finally found it again, and all us love it too. It's not explicitly Christian, but it's not bad either, if you don't have any major qualms about magic and fairies and things. | |

| What do I think of when I hear 'fairy land'? Perfection. Fairies have always been small, sparkling, winged, almost angel-like beings. The land itself would be sparkling, bright, unharmed by sin... But that might be a little too utopian for what you want... | |

| I think...perfect-looking with a lot of mischievous, hidden traps for those who don't belong there. | |
