I thought this said pyrotechnics.
But psychokinetics are still cool.
I like the differences between the types. You have a pretty balanced system of sources, I think.

If you aren't yet familiar with my world of Skalahseh. Their is a link in my Sig read that. Now lets begin. In Skalahseh I have a plethora of "magic substitutes" Three actually 1 being natural or biological another being truly evil in its nature and then one being based entirely in faith. Or at least thats the current plan. I wanted to see how other people of faith will react to these three "power sources" so to speak. Psychokinesis or Kinetics (As a Skalahseh native would say) in Skalahseh their are people born with the natural ability to affect the world around them through the use of Psychokinetic abilities. These are the Telekinetic's, Pyrokinetic's, and Telepath's of Skalahseh. They are referred to a Kinetics and take the place of the more traditional fantasy concept of Spell casters you know the Wizard or sorcerer. Their abilities are natural occurring and are passed down genetically. Users of this ability are limited by how much pressure or strain using these abilities can place on their minds causing headaches, nosebleeds and seizures when used to much to the excess. No more good or evil than what the abilities are used to do. Pacts are unholy unions made with unholy entities known Deamon, Sound familiar? Needless to say this is a highly immoral way of obtaining power. It is also highly unhealthy as one is basically giving away pieces of their immortal soul in exchange for favors. Driving its practitioners into Illness physical, mental, and spiritual in nature. If that wasn't bad enough it is also highly addictive. Users of this art are limited by the extent of a Deamons power as well as the extent in witch they can handle the pact tearing them to shreds. Users can only free themselves through being saved by God. After all it wouldn't be christian if even the most wicked could not be redeemed. Salvation is open to all who come to Christ. Faith in Yah (God, its short for Yahway and consequently the word for God in Skalahseh). In many fantasy worlds the Idea of White magic is used for healers and ect. However in Skalahseh their isn't any magic in that sense. Rather their are gifts of the spirit you know like faith healers and ect. That's what its like in Skalahseh only its just a bit more common anyone with significant faith can, Rebuke evil spirits, Heal the sick, speak in tongues, and even command beasts. However this power comes directly from God and can only be used in service to God. Those who would use these powers for ill or selfish ends will not be able to call upon them. While these abilities are not Kenetic they can be used to empower Psychokunetic abilities. And someone born with those abilities could still be able to use Faith based abilities. They however are not the same thing. Questions, Comments, Concerns. |

The Good, The Bad, And the Holy. Its a good balance I think. Well then again if where talking about game balance... Holy wins every-time. |
