Idea Background: Well, I've been thinking a lot about a predominantly snow world. Originally I had an idea for high-powered technology which would launch hardened snow missiles; like a high-tech snowball fight, but that reminded me too much of Hoth. So I morphed the idea a little. :P

Basic Idea: What about an entire snow world where everything is made out of snow but crafted by magic? Snow which is magic-changed could be a blue tint to distinguish it from what hasn't. I'm thinking like some sort of gun made out of snow which could launch snowballs, and that's about all I've got right now.

I also decided buildings would have to be low to the ground, and thickly built, out of snow. I'm trying to justify using the magical treatment to make the snow fireproof (thus allowing indoor fires which would be a necessity) but that sounds too much like some lame plot fix or something. :P

Story Idea(s): Um, I don't have one at the moment?

So, I need a lot of help in the story department since I basically have no ideas there. This would work best as a short story, but other than that I don't have many ideas. Maybe 2-3 people to work on the story and another person or two to help with the world? Y'all could do both, too, if you're interested. :D

What do you think?

Sounds pretty! And a bit like Rime!

*hollers for Evening* Eve, have you seen Rime?

As for building with snow, what about igloos? They were made out of ice and they could build fires inside them. The basic principle, I think, is that the outside temperature is cold enough to keep it all frozen regardless of the inside temperature. Not sure on that though. :P

Rime is an Age in realMyst (computer game, if you're not familiar with the Myst games). What you see of it is cold and snowy.

I've read the Myst books and played the computer games. I remember a snow world from End of Ages but I do not remember its name. I'm a very amateur writer but I would love to help if I can.

Yes! Another Myst fan! :dieshappy:

I think I've heard of that too... but I haven't played End of Ages yet.

So, where are we going with this?

Did you know they're working on a Myst movie based on one of the books?

I think it sounds very pretty. Though won't the humans there get very cold?

The way I envisioned it, the humans would have form-fitting suits, sort of like a bobsled team or something. For more extended cold perhaps they have thicker suits? I haven't researched much of anything so I don't know. :P

Igloos do not melt when they build fires inside. The temperature is so severely cold that the ice refreezes instantly. They may also (uncertain) use some sort of bone fireplace.

Does that help?

Never underestimate the warmth of a wetsuit. Or drysuit, if such be the case.
