Just curious. :D In my novel, they can live up to 520 years.

(You can select more than one option in the poll if the answer varies.)

Good idea! I have some Dwarves and Humans that live around 1000 years (some longer), while most humans can only live up to 100-200.
The Centaurs can live around 1500+ years, the Minotaurs around 600-800 years, the Fauns about the same as the Minotaurs.

(all these numbers may change sometime in the future, of course)

In The Tinted Lands, a race known as Toxati lives anywhere from 150 - 215 years. Sheniolaens on the other hand, only live to be 40 - 60 years old. Aeloo are in between those areas, probably around 50 - 100 years.

*votes for the first option* I guess I'm just boring and have humans who live an average human life span.

I'm not sure what to say for the poll, since the world with which I'm primarily concerned is only about 300 years old (according to the current draft of the timeline ... which I keep meaning to revise, one of these days ...), and some of the first settlers (who came there from our world) are still alive. Lifespans vary by race (the Vaynar, who are not quite equivalent to angels, live within the world until their last God-assigned task is done, as I mentioned in the Reincarnation thread), and mages will under normal circumstances live orders of magnitude longer or even several times as long as "mundane" members of the same race.

In practice, characters live until their death serves the storyline :)

My humans live a normal time. The Thanilvala live for hundreds of years, longer than the dwarves, who can live a couple hundred years. The dragons can live for a few thousand years.

All the races in my world live about the time of a normal human (60-110 years), but there is one race of beings which have been alive for as long as the world existed. The sames live for thousands of years.

I think most of my races have normal lifespans... Boring, huh?

I have a great diversity of age ranges in my world. However, most, if not all, of them live more than 100 years, unless I go into the loss of power explanation, but then that would get confusing.....So we'll leave it at that.

My elves can live forever unless killed, my humans can live into their 80's (though they are considered really long-lived if they do), my dwarves can live to around five hundred, and I'm not so sure about the goblins, trolls, or Kudaren.

My races are all different....

Dwarves live around 50-60 years on average. The oldest one I've written was 70-something.

Humans live around 80-90 years. Oldest I've developed was around 110.

Elves live around 140-150 years. Oldest known was around 170.

Lemarins, an almost legendary merfolk, live to be around 400. Oldest known was 470-something.

Depends on the race. Humans might live to be about 110. But it really all depends on their lifestyle: if they eat their vegetables, if they get enough excercise, if they have a habit of joining battles...
Elves -I have no clue. One day, I will find out. However, at the moment all I know is that they aren't immortal.
Halelven live to be... oh... Anywhere from 500 to 700, I would say. I haven't considered that far, but that seems about right.

All of my humans live for an average amount of time, so probably 70-100 years. I haven't thought about it much for Shapeshifters, but I would guess around 200 years.

Lessee...

On Rhoive, my primary fantasy world, humans have an average lifespan. Lorvald live up to 500 years, thereabouts, and shapechangers live a little longer than humans, probably in the 100-120 range. That covers the humanoids and what I put on the poll. ;)

Unicorns are immortal, dragons live a long time but I don't know for sure how long, and same with the gryphons. Dragons outlive gryphons, though.

And God gave man 120 years to live. I'm paraphrasing here, as I am too whacked out to pull out my Bible. Considering how Ska'Lah'Seh is a sort of analogy world, I chose that to make the natural lifespan for human. However many in Ska'Lah'Seh never get to be so old. With exception to the Empire and Isle of Faith no nation on Ska'Lah'Seh has good enough medical knowledge to maintain life to its fullest. The Mon'An who are half spirits are capable of living twice as long to be as old as 240. While the bestial races who were once beasts have a shorter lifespan of around 80.

Keep in mind few make it to these ages and some even defy the odd. For instance An'Ard (Christ) lived to be over 2000 years old in Ska'Lah'Seh. However, that may not count. There have been humans mostly emperors and prophets that have lived to be around 180 to 200 years old. A number of Wol'V'An Sha'An have lived to be around 160-180, more than doubling their lifespan. There is even a Lyrologist, who, despite being utterly insane, has lived over 500 years by replacing his blood with a substance known as Lyr.

"Altered" Hum'An's, Mon'An, and Rah'T'An born with a "Talent" psychokinetic abilities often have lifespans extended by at the very least 20 years and can even go as far as to double. Conversely War'Lock's people who make pacts with Dea'Mon for power often live no longer than 3-5 months after their pacts as the Dea'Mon is draining them dry. Well, I say that but, they're not exactly dead, more like empty comatose shells, but I digress. Of course, many commit suicide before then and many more are rescued from their pact by Shep'Ard's of the faith.

Ummm... that's... Well, I believe that is a misinterpretation. I used to think 120 years man was made to live, but after study, I strongly believe that is not what that verse says.

I agree with Airianna on this one. Give me a little while to gather some resources on this, as I'm still working on the Nephilim thread.
