So I was wondering, what type of games do you have in your world? I've never really thought about it until last night, when I came up with a strange balancing game. But if you had out-of-this-world foods, clothes, and houses, why not relaxing games?

In one book, On The Edge of The Dark Sea of Darkness, they mentioned some of their culture's games. Like a game which involved running around and avoiding being tickled by parents. (yes that is actually a game)

This thread is for general brainstorming and discussion of their world's games, which may be relaxing - talking about relaxing games? :D

For babies, there are rattles that have special logos on them.

For preschoolers, there is a special game called Elescra^.

1) You skip a rock up to 10 times on a big chalk-drawn spiral.
2) You run as fast as you can to go pick up the rock.
3) Your opponent skips his or her rock, and then runs as fast as they can to pick up the rock.
Fastest person to retrieve the rock the same length of distance wins.

For preteens (ages 9-12), they play Elescra^ and My^o^pa. My^o^pa is a Zoriah version of an obstacle course, but they use slingshots or bows made out of soft, supple wood. They then see who is the best "shot".

For teens (13-19), they play My^o^pa and Kayrenee (kay-reee-nee). Kayreene is a meadow game, where they tramp out a big maze out of very tall grasses (up to 6 feet tall). They play at night and try to get out of the maze without using a light. This game is carefully supervised, but in the end many teens pair up and talk, helping each other get out of the maze.

Those sound really cool, especially that whole slingshot thing. :) It'd be interesting to grow up in that culture. Does is have the human games as well as the ones you designed?
What does the '^' symbol mean in My^o^pa?

The "^" is just what I put to kind of separate the sounds. :D

They do have some human games as well, like games of strategy that are similar to chess.

Wow, this is really cool.
I have one in my book(I don't have a name for it. :P )
Where you go out, and try to catch the rarest bugs, snakes, birds, mythical creatures, Ect. It is played by teens 16 and up.
If you are catch non-poisons frogs/bugs preteens play it also.

I have a type of board gamer in my books (the second in the series, actually) called Pursue and Conquer.
