I have more of their culture:
Transportation:
Mainly transport is the two-wheeled wagon, pulled by a donkey. However, this mode of transportation is limited to at maximum, a low mud road. For off-road travel and when the roads are almost impassable, llamas serve as single-person transport. Horses are reserved for the highest of classes, as the number of horses is low. Trading:
The Toxati trade with the Sheniolaens for their animal products, in exchange for metal items. They have uses for the meat, furs and horn which the Sheniolaens don’t━rather, they can’t eat meat, so it’s exported to the Toxati.
Also, spice merchants, and beverage transports have large market, since many beverages must be imported from other places; especially the spiced beverages manufactured in warmer areas. The Arts:
Starting with sculpture, the Toxati detest any sort of humanoid figure made 3d. However, they have no qualms against carving non-humanoid figures from any sort of material, even if the object makes no sense at all. Besides, the Toxati have a taste for weird, random statues, particually of abstract trees and mountains.
Next, with actual paintings, the Toxati remain picky. They insist that all drawings must be of humanoid figures, and that landscapes must not have any sort of humanoid figure in it, except animals. Like the sculptures, paintings follow the same abstract pattern.
With science, the government steps in. All scientific research must be approved by the government, or be funded by some sort of public business; for example, a library funding a private scientist to develop anti-rotting paper. Other forms of research, like astronomy, isn’t protected by the government, and so may Toxati study astronomy. The greatest star charts of Tinted Lands were made by Toxati artists and scholars.
Believe it or not, cooking is classified as an art under Toxati eyes. Schools host cooking as one of thir many classes, besides the common astronomy course. This race has a knack for producing some of the best scholars and cooks in history, annoying the other races greatly.
