The Races of the Second Dimension, Lakai.

The Amadosians

These people live in the center of the largest continent within the plane of Lakai. They have no hair and bright blue eyes. Their skin is a shade somewhere between violet and gray. They also have a gray stone-like outer shell that covers various parts of their bodies based upon gender and bloodline traits. They are massive in stature, even more so than the Loukrians, commonly reaching heights of 9 feet. They are extremely muscular and somewhat saurian in appearance. They are generally pacifists preferring to stay out of conflict; however, they are extremely well versed in combat if it is required of them. Their primary form of weaponry is blunt, often using large war-hammers to make maximum use of their heavy musculature. Armadosians dwell underground for the most part, hewing great cities out of pure stone. This race has a typical lifespan of about one hundred and fifty years. They naturally gravitate toward the Earth element, and are usually able to learn it’s extended element, Gravity, as well.

The Imbrakiri

The Imbrakiri are a peculiar race with a strong dependency upon water. They live on various small landmasses throughout Lakai. They have no hair and instead sport a number of orange frills which run all the way down their backs. Their eyes are typically a bright violet but can be darker as well. Their skin ranges from bluish green to algae green and is scaly, like fish or lizards. They have webbed hands and feet which sport longer and thinner digits than typical races. The last notable feature is their immensely strong skeletal structure which rivals the strength of some metals. As a society they are extremely respectful. Their architecture consists of massive, hollow plateau-like structures which are filled with water. Their cities are built within these and are similar to Egyptian construction styles. They have an unfavorable view of war, but are prepared to fight if necessary. They often use the bones of their ancestors to craft weapons; this tradition is thought to honor the dead. This race has an average life-expectancy of eighty years. They naturally gravitate toward the Water and Wind elemental alignments.

The Kelshion

The Kelshion are a notable race which carries a very noble appearance. They live on Lakais largest continent, alongside the Amadosians. They have dark gray skin and white eyes. Their hair color is generally white or silver. They are very similar in body structure to the races of Tira. At a young age a glowing rune is inscribed on their foreheads and sometimes many additional runes are inscribed along their arms. These runes indicate lineage and sometimes carry the blessings of their parents as well. They often wear extremely elaborate clothing which is usually composed of golds and darker shades of gray. Their Architecture lies above ground and looks like a cross between the Incas and the canyon dwelling Indians of North America. One of their most amazing accomplishments is the growing of Itaari Crystals, a feat which no other race has been able to accomplish. These people have an indifferent view on war. They have a lifespan of around two hundred years. They naturally gravitate toward the Fire and Wind elemental alignments.

The Vashirr

The Vashirr are a vicious race with a limited ability to shape their limbs and control their bones. They have an elongated head with a triceratops like shield, and powerful jaws which open left, right, and downward simultaneously giving them a snake-like ability to devour large objects. They have black or crimson colored skin and a hard outer shell similar to the Akkatari. Eye color is very similar to red-hot metals. Their upper bodies are structured very similarly to the race of Tira. But, they have extremely strong neck muscles and dragon-like legs. They have the ability to rapidly restructure parts of their bodies into weapon-like appendages. Their architecture is crude and foreboding, made of solid stone, and often stained with the blood of their enemies. The Vashirr see themselves as completely dominant over all other races and are bent on conquest and destruction. Their lifespans are about eighty years on average. As a race they gravitate towards the Psionic branch of The Itaari Arts.

These sound like very neat races, TearsWeHaveShed. I can tell you've put a lot of work into developing them, and some sound terrifying enough that I wouldn't want to meet them in real life! But that does mean you've done a very good job with them. :D I'll be sure to post any questions I have that could help you develop these races further. :salute:

Ok, here's just one question I have: What kind of clothing do these races wear? Do they even wear clothing? ( :P )

Lakai specifically? Or all of them?

Well, I meant for this thread, but you can answer for the other threads as well if you wish. :)

Well it'll be easy to answer for this thread. :dieshappy:

The Amadosians usually only wear armor, which is typically made from the shells of large arthropods that live underground.

The Kelshion have a dress style largely influenced by Japan and China but with a lot more gold color in it. :P

The Imbrakiri would probably wear fish skins, or maybe some kind of leather made from native sea animals.

And the Vashirr don't really use clothing, instead relying on their hard outer shells.

*nods*

These races are very creative, and in my experience, original. That is hard to find. Honestly I love the idea of the race with the limited ability to change it's appearance. I would guess as a very warlike race they might wear trophies to show their prowess in battle in addition to their natural armor.

I would ask though, what is the basic level of technology and metallurgy that has been reached in this world?

Also I was curious as to the diet of the first three races.

Well first off, thank you for the encouragement, I work very hard on this stuff. You are right about the trophies for sure, this race is particularly focused on prowess in battle and they'd jump at any opportunity to demonstrate their dominance over each other or other races.

That's a somewhat difficult question to answer. It depends very much on both the time period and on what culture you're talking about. My world has had a very different approach to technological advancement than ours. There are two main focuses when it comes to technology, Mechanical and Crystalline. Mechanical is the way we've done things, gears, gyros, electricity, mechanical functions, explosives, all of that. Crystalline technology focuses more on things like anti-gravity, data storage, energy manipulation, and even the interchanging of matter and energy. That said, very few of my cultures have even come close to reaching our level of sophistication. And those that have, have done so in a very different way than we have.

O.O You know I really haven't paid a whole lot of attention to that.

I would imagine that the Amadosians would be largely insectivores. There are some extremely large insects in their native lands, some of them even have flesh with a consistency similar to meat.

The Imbrakiri would probably eat food harvested from the ocean, plants, fish, maybe even whale meat. Not sure on that.

And the Kelshion... I have no idea. I'll have to think about that, it's an element of world building I hadn't considered.
