In the Yonder forest, The police are called "Watch men." They are trained to be able to take out criminals and take care of their village. On average there is about five watch men for every thousand humans. Each village trains there own Watch men, so depending on the village the depends how good the Watch men are.
They act as the police, the judges, the punishers, etc, etc.
Any question or comments please let me know. :dieshappy:

(Edit: five watch men per hundred people. not one-thousand.)

What about corrupt Watch men who abuse their power? Is there a system for reporting and disciplining them?

Only the other Watch men unfortunately. :( There isn't really a system that connects the villages of the Yonder Forest, much less the watch men. :P

Oh alright. :) And also, do these Watch Men have any law enforcement tools? For example, policemen use guns. Do they have anything?

Good question. :0 They were helmets, have spears, and bows. Some have swords. And any weapons they find/buy/get of criminals.

Alright then! These are my final questions: What do these Watchmen usually wear? And also, what kind of training do they go through?

They normally wear a light breast plate, army boots, helmet, sling for arrows, sheath for sword. I think that's it. :D

Any thing the village sees fit.

(Okay I change my mind, THIS is the last question) And what does the village usually see fit for training?

I have no idea. The training isn't mentioned in my book so I don't think about it much. ;)

What authority do the Watch men have in the villages? Can they kill criminals? Imprison them? Convict them of crimes? Do the Watch men take out criminals, and then someone else does the judging and convicting?

Let me get this straight: not only judge, jury, and executioner, but also police? Wow. Tough lot you don't want to get in the way of.

My question: How far are they willing to go? You speak of them as local groups, but what if, say, a serial killer from their area took off across country? Would they hunt this guy down, or do they have enough communication with other Watchmen that they could merely send out an alert and the Watchmen in whatever area the criminal fled to would catch them? Or does it all just depend on the group and their resources?

Did I say "question" in the singular? ;)

They have messenger hawks that they could send to one place or another. But if it is very personal to them then they would hunt he/she down.

If they think it will come to killing a certain criminal they will talk to the other watch men, unless they think otherwise.
