Never created a beast before... Help!

Post subject:  Never created a beast before... Help!
So, my world represents the spiritual realm. I have the Dark Prince, who represents Satan, and he uses armies of different creatures and such for his own evil purposes and wars. He uses wizards, witches, fairies, Dragons, and such, but I was also wanting a new creature. I was thinking of the name ugious, a mix between ugly and hideous. Are there any suggestions for this creature, or any other creatures I could use? Maybe monsters in the closet, or things like that? Basically, things that created fear as a little kid or even older, things that may have seemed good but really were bad, or things that are outright bad.

If this all makes sense, I would love some feedback! :D And, if you have any questions, please ask.

There are a lot of creatures that have a basis in evil beings. Snakes and dragons are common, goats or horned things can get cliche but can still be a good way to go. Birds or winged things aren't used as much as they used to be. It all depends on what position you want the beast to fill really.

RJ, I like those thoughts a lot. Thanks for sharing! :D

Aeleknight: I'm hoping the beast to play the part of a warrior. They fight for the Dark Prince and keep a strong hold on his captives. There is a huge mass of them, they are his slaves, and they fight without stopping unless the Dark Prince commands otherwise. They cling, tear, cut, shred, and hold on to the death. However, individually, they are fairly easy to kill and, depending on the occasion, to pull off. If you've ever seen Spy Kids 3, I almost see them as the Tinker Toys (except, not... :P).

Are you thinking a beast similar to one we have on earth or a new creature entirely?

I was thinking more of a new creature entirely for this specific beast. I will use other earth creatures and such, but I was wanting a new beast for this. ;)

I think I figured out what I want it to look like!

Its head is like a ferocious dog's, and its neck is like a snake's. The neck can stretch out and in like an accordion. It has the body of a falcon, and its two legs and feet of a reptile. Its legs and feet are also as strong as a kangaroo's and works in a similar way. Its wings are that of a dark purple dragon's, and it has no tail.

Do you haven suggestions? Do you like/dislike this beast? Please give me your feedback! ;)

I think saying its neck extends like an accordion is a keen and interesting observation. :dieshappy:
