Mahaia (ma-HI-ah) is a world that is seperated into 5 physical levels. These levels never have physical contact with each other, though video stream and radio waves are transmitted back and forth. The only way that one can get transported between the levels is with the ruler's approval on screening day (more details about the whole story will be at riascribbles.wordpress.com).

The highest level is where the ruler resides. It's commonly known as Erregela (er-REY-gu-la). It is thought to be a palace among the heavens, made of gold and lined with gems.

The level below that is where the 91%-100% reside (the percentages are beauty levels). Everything is thought to be glistening, like a clear lake. All entertainment is produced from this level. This level is known as the Erhandia (er-HAN-dee-ah).

The 60%-90% reside in the middle level. Life is as it would be in a small town in America or Canada, but this level is called the Erdian (ER-dee-in). Suburbs, where white picket fences line the streets are where normal life takes place. The seasons are all harsh and extreme in every way possible.

The uglies (30%-59%) live in Erbatsua (er-BAT-sue-ah). Erbatsua is believed to be situated underneath the planet's crust. It is extremely hot and dark. Life is miserable.

The death chambers are only in use 2 days out of every year. Eroshda (er-OSH-da), as it is most commonly known, is the place where people go right before they are executed. It is only used for 2 days because screening day and the day after is when everything happens swiftly. It is pitch black if torches aren't used and the walls of the underground tunnels are lined with black brick.

These 5 levels make up my world. The idea is that Mahaia is a spherical planet but the atmosphere is controlled by the ruler; which makes traveling between the levels without permission impossible. The ruler can see everything from his level, which encased the whole planet. Erhandia is in what we know of as the cloud level. Hovering just over the clouds everything glistens from the golden reflection of the bottom of Erregela. Erdian would be the equivalent of where we reside on Earth. Erbatsua would be ~200km into the Earth and Eroshda would be just below that.

I hope that made sense. Critiquing is always welcome.

That just sounds cool. How did you come up with that?

Thanks. I don't actually know how I came up with it. I just started to describe what I saw in my head (can you tell I have weird dreams? lol). At first I thought it would be like flat worlds stacked on top of each other but then it made more sense for the Ruler's level to surround the whole thing to represent his complete control over everything...

Thanks Milly! Unfortunately, those things come at random times when I have no control over my brain. *remembers that she needs to work on that very downfall*

Hey, if your creativity comes when you have no control over your brain, then don't stop it!

Aha, I see! So, the levels are in view of each other, then?

Well... each level can see the bottom of the level on top of it.... if that makes sense. But they cannot travel between them without permission... Also, the distance between the levels is far greater than what is shown.

It reminds me of the Norse view of the world.

Oh, you don't have to do them all at once. How about one a week, if you're that busy?

I love this idea, of five physical levels! So, you can't travel back and forth between the levels? Or you can only go from an upper level to a lower level, but how do you get back up? (Forgive me if you already explained this, I might've missed it) ;)

Looking forward to seeing the maps and learning more! :D

To answer your questions:
Travel between the levels is only possible when permitted by the master on the top level. It only happens once a year though, when people are either punished, and sent down or promoted and sent up.

The maps are no where near being done but I will put a link to my blog when they are up.

Also, sorry for taking so long to reply; I haven't been on HWFF in a while. I am now trying to become more active.

Thank you for you questions. They are greatly appreciated!
