Hello all,
This isn't a totally normal use of the Village Common, but since I am the head, I hereby authorize it! :dieshappy: Well, sort of. Here is the deal.

I only have one novel: my masterpiece, the Two Fathers. I'm currently revising it (for the fourth time), and I happen to have a superfluous character. :) Her name is Aravína, and she has black hair. She's an orphan, and is looking for her brother.

That's about all I have from her that's not relevant to my story. :) Well, anyways, on my fifth revision I am dropping this charrie, for various reasons, so I don't need her anymore. Would anyone like to develop a story with her? Or just take her over?

Well, this goes in Village Commons because I am willing to work on a story with someone about this But I have nothing about this charry, so it would be basically starting from scratch. Any takers? :D

Adopt a character! ^.^

Anyhoo, I'm interested in adopting her. Originally I wasn't, and was about to leave the page, but a sudden bout of compassion for the girl came over me and...

Well. ;) May I? I need some more characters in a story of mine, anyway. Specifically a traveling companion for my Female MC, Breyanna. She'd be the perfect candidate.

That's about all I have for her. If you'd like I can PM you the excerpts she (was) in the book so you can get an idea of what she's like. :P

You must fill out these nine-page forms in triplicate, please. :D

I clicked on this thread thinking "What in the world?" I absolutely laughed out loud once I read the thread. Only writers adopt a character, instead of adopting a pet. ;)

Hee! :rofl: This is actually the first time I've ever adopted a character, I usually create my own from scratch - except for one, who's based off of a friend of mine.

One of these days, I should post some of the characters I've dropped, so they don't drop off into oblivion. :D

Paperwork signed. ;) I would like to have at least a couple of excerpts of her, if that's alright, just to get a general feel for her. Thanks! :D

My dropped characters always get reabsorbed into the other plots/worlds in my head. So I don't think I will ever be putting characters up for adoption. But I can always use more characters! So should I put out a notice -- "Will accept abandoned and needy characters for adoption"?

This is so cool - I'm hoping to see more of these. :D What if we started a thread full of characters up for adoption? Say... character development?
