The Free Age Beginning with the tearing down of the Golden Cities and distributing the materials evenly, the revolutionaries went on to build the Free Cities. Some chose democracy, others chose a limited monarchy, but all were free of any one family having absolute control by way of scepter powers. The writings of Tanith were mostly destroyed, save for the few copies hidden by followers of his god who warned not to blame God for the sins of His followers. Small pockets of these believers hid within most of the Free Cities, some taking a more active approach recruiting followers for the day when they would resurrect the scepters and rid the world of all evil. They are waiting for time when they can do this without bloodshed within the Free Cities. The story of Orino takes place thousands of years into the Free Age, on the small continent of Ferikal, formerly known as Trinix and home of the Pinkton Scepter. Brudan, the main body of the four part island continent is being united under a military organization called the Free Alliance of Brudan led by a man named Tyree. Their goal is genocide under the cover of creating a stronger centralized government. The countries are torn between three sects of the same religion and Tyree is removing opposition of his sect. Orino and Tyree grew up in the same small jungle village, but went their separate ways when Orino became lost in an addiction to bukta, an exotic plant with hallucinogenic properties. Tyree engrossed himself in religion and built up a large enough following of extremists who bought into his philosophy that the only way to make Ferikal a world power would be through eliminating the factions that divide their strength. |

Out of curiosity, do you have any details on the "recent history" that occurred during the free age, just prior to the start of your books? That's merely a curiosity question - I realize these "age" posts are more a general world history. Have you developed local and/or recent history at all for staging your books? |

I haven't, yet. I drew in detail the continent Trinix yesterday and will upload that soon. After that I will try and post a timeline of major events from the beginning and filling in cities on the map as I go. After that I will have an idea how old my world is and how advanced they are. Then I'll fill in the most recent events. Thanks for your interest, and great question Philli! |
