It looks real good. But it looks a lot like our globe.

You're right Joe, but none of the continents are exactly the same, and I wanted large continents in each corner. I haven't drawn many maps like this, so I guess this would be akin to me writing a superhero called Awesome Man who flies around in green tights and works at a TV station as part of his alter ego, Bart Bent. Unfortunately, I've done too much planning and envisioning their relationship and location to change them now. Do you think this is bad or corny (them looking so similar to our globe)?

I think only us picky Fantasy writers will notice. Also if you ever get to the stage of making a realistic hand drawn map the resemblance will be less noticeable.

(This coming from a guy whose world is based out the western coast of England.)

What kind of subtle changes do you think could help? It seems the location and size of the four largest continents is what makes it look similar. I don't know how to change that without disrupting the overall plan.

I think it's great the way it is. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but that's pure opinion. I really like your continents the way they are, Timotheus.

I'll keep this in mind for my next world map, as the more I look at this the more I see similarities, almost like it is an alternate Earth.

That is, of course, contrary to the way Earth is formed, but where I come from, we have different landmasses. In fact, we have only five continents.

I'm not sure what you are referring to as contrary to how Earth was formed. My world wasn't shaped by a great flood, but was made this way.

I was referring to the number of continents and whether or not they are connected. You see, where I come from, there has been no great flood either. So the continents are just as they were when they were created. There we are on even ground.
