Ok below is a short overview of my world please read and comment on what you think of it, what you don't understand, and what is bad about it.

The world has no name, though world in dwarven is "Orgnaf" Or to the humans their world is Vargon because that is the land where they live.

Vargon is home to the humans they have lived here roughly 7oo years.
The dwarves were here when the humans came. They claim that the humans came out of the west following the river that goes between the mountain ranges. But the humans claim they landed in ships coming out of the east.
Loster is a mysterious country on the other side of the Ramacthur mountains none of the few explorers that have dared to go into this land have ever returned so no one knows what it is like though they do know it is inhabited by the Were-wolves.
To see the map for my world so far go here. http://holyworlds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2131

Vargon has a pleasant climate in the southern region but as you go north it gets much colder. In the southern region I'd say it was about like TN or some other southern part of America and as you go north to Morg castle it's about like Maine. Vargon is fertile in the south especially in the middle regions between the two rivers, but once you start going more into the north the trees disappear and it's mostly barren prairies. There is a very unusual part of the northern region of Vargon known as the Uel plane it is a table land that is completely flat and devoid of trees nothing but long grass grows here and it is the only place where unicorns roam.
Now for the inhabitants of this land.
Humans, Dwarves, and werewolves.
These are the races I have. There are Dragons also but only some breeds are intelligent.

Humans. Well we really know what they look like already. Humans live in Vargon mostly, though there are two small countries other than it. The island of Kor and the northern country of Norvsgry. Humans are the most numerous of the three races but they are the most short lived.

Werewolves. It's debatable whether their human form is their true form or their wolf form is. When they are in human form they still have wolf like traits most noticeable grey hair, and eyes that are strange colored and glow in the dark. Likewise when they are in wolf form they still have human traits their arms and legs still are human shaped and they go on two legs (with some trouble.) Also the overall appearance of the wolf form reminds one vaguely of a human. They lead a nomadic life in the numerous forests of Loster and have no contact with the rest of the world. Sometimes lone Were wolves will wander into the human kingdoms and scare poor villagers to death.
They can change forms at will it takes them several minutes to do so and the transformation is rather painful. Their lives are longer than humans most can live up to 200 or more years.
Their internal organs are mostly like humans but their muscles, tendons, and bones are vastly different and far more complex than humans.

Dwarves. They are short about 4 foot tall and more hairy than humans (and no, their women do not grow beards.) Also their internal organs are somewhat different than humans. (but we won't go into the gory details.) They mainly live in their land of Orcil. But there have been many dwarven colonies. Doth, Ocor, and Fal being the most noteworthy. And there are some dwarves living in all the large cities of Vargon living alongside humans. They are more intelligent than humans and are more advanced as far as technology, art, and culture go.
Also they are the most long lived of the races living sometimes up to four hundred years old.
They love information and prize it over all. Many spend their whole lives trying to figure out seeming impossible secrets of nature. Also they are avid explorers and many a dwarf has set off into the west never to return. The only thing that the dwarves fear is the ocean, no dwarf ever goes onto the ocean, lakes, and rivers do not bother them but the ocean does.

Brief history.

About 700 years ago humans settled in Vargon the humans claim they came over the sea but the dwarves who had already been there for around 1000 years or more said they came from the west. Anyway they came and many little kingdoms sprung up and there was constant war. Finally one of these kings decided he was going to unify all the kingdoms under his own rule. His name was Anorik. He unified all the kingdoms under himself and set up a capital in Corf. All the kings of Vargon are descended from Anorik the Great. Even their dating system is based on Unified kingdom year 1 starting with the first year of Anorik's rule. There have been 14 kings since Anorik and a steady decline in how well they rule has made the country very miserable. It is thought that the kings are mad but no one is willing to do anything about it. So Vargon has kept sinking lower and lower under the poor management of their evil rulers.
The dwarves have been here at least a thousand years. They can trace their ancestors back that far at least. They stay in their mountains cities mostly but some deal with the humans. 100 years before the humans came there was a great civil war within the dwarves and when this finally ended a great force of werewolves took advantage of their weakened state and attacked the dwarves and almost destroyed them. Ever since then their society has been recovering from this great strife.

I'm curious about the fact that the dwarves say the humans came from one direction and the humans say they came from the opposite direction. How did they end up believing such polar opposite things, when it seems like something history would have recorded?

Well the humans folklore says that they came in huge ships out of the east from a far country. But the dwarves say they were just some barbaric nomads who wandered to the coast from the west.
(The humans like their romantic version better  )

It is looking really good, Joe! You have it all very well thought out; I can't think of any questions at the moment but if I think of any I'll be sure to ask. :)

What I would really like is to know what is lacking about this world. What more does it need to make it seem more real?

Well, to the extent that it has been revealed on HolyWorlds, I can't say there is really enough to pick holes in. So far, so good, but until we see more than the skeleton, I don't think there's much room for input.

Ok then what do you not understand what things are still vague?
What I am trying to accomplish is a fairly short description of my world.

For a brief description I didn't think it was vague at all. What I'm saying is that you would need to build your story upon the skeleton, and you would then find whether the story required more or less information. It is the story which may or may not require more information, but the summary, from my judgment at any rate, is good.

I do have one question, just for curiosity's sake. Are there supposed to be many werewolves or are they few and far between? Vampires and werewolves, with their ability to turn innocents into one of their own race are - the sort of thing one would not wish to run across. And they could potentially take over an entire world if they were of a mind to do so.

I need to write a detailed overview of the were-wolves. No, their bite does not turn people into werewolves. There are quite a few were-wolves, but not as many as could be because of their warlike tendency.
