Boy, I'm really procrastinating now...I am doing the most tedious work of brainstorming I've discovered yet: listing births and marriages of each of the 12 families. It's been neat figuring out a system to keep organized and how I've found ways to build alliances and create tifts. As part of my weekly goal this week, I am going to get the births and marriages of the first 100 years so I at least have an idea of who will be leading the expansion across the globe, and some idea of who they are.

Some ways I've formed alliances, is through offering of daughters to wed sons, as well as boys born in the same year can either be best buds or fierce rivals. If a girl born in the same year as a boy spurns his offers, and he responds violently, then we have major family rivalries.

For example • Multh Fateal, oldest child/son of Harok (younger twin of firstborn Tanith), was spurned by Kenli Pinkton who was supposed to be his bride since they were married in the same year, and he nearly killed her as a result. It wasn’t until he was 38 years old, in the year 80, that he was given a wife as a deal by the Broones, marrying Peala who was 12. This leads to a pact between the Fateals and Broones and the beginning the other side of the first world war. All from making them born in the same year, and her spurned love because he took after his murdering father...actually he was caught before the murder, but still now I have to consider deaths into my timeline ( :P and  ,which is the closest emoticon I could find to excited about potential for more rivalries and connections.)

Another example, which really starts the two sided division is the birth of twin boys as Esol and Ani's first children: Tanith and Harok. With 12 sons and 13 daughters, they are told to have the son marry the daughter born after him in order. Well, Harok takes a girl younger than the one he was supposed to marry and starts a domino effect of sin and punishment. Harok does not originally discover his family's power in the teal scepter (will take it from his son one day in the future). Harok tries to kill Tanith and his firstborn out of jealousy for Tanith discovering a power first and getting the lion's share of responsibility and honor - though mostly because Tanith's God-fearing ways earned it.

I feel I have to do this work to see how this world started, so I can also develop cultures and emotional roots to both rivalries and friendships. Hopefully I won't have to be so detailed after this generation.

Questions:
* If you've done this before, how did you structure your timeline and family trees?

I'll attach the works in progress to give you an idea

 I have done one genealogy, once. It's outdated now, though. I'll try to look and your stuff and also post some about how I did mine.
