Here is my Musicthiss. Sorry if you can't understand what they are. It's a lot better to tell someone in person but I'll see if you guys get this. Feel free to post any questions if you don't understand somthing. =) Musicthiss’ Music’ Thiss (music then thiss as in thistle) A Musicthiss is a person who can play music through themselves, or since that sounds weird, imagine that they can make music play out of thin air. They can play music from anytime in the past, present, or future. Yes, they could play anything from rap, to Elvish, to caveman drum playing. Imagine a radio with its dial. Now that is kind of like the thing in a Musicthiss' head to the people within about a mile around. She can hear their music. The music is the song that fits their emotions or thoughts at the time she’s on their station, so to speak. She can also pretty much guess whose station it’s coming from... Musicthiss’ are always girls and are totally in love with music. For this reason, most never get married and that could be because pretty much no man would dream of spending all his days with a person who was constantly playing music. There is only one Musicthiss on earth at a time and some think for this reason they are also immortal. If one Musicthiss is being born the life is slowly drained out of the last Musicthiss, or if a Musicthiss is killed, then the second she was killed another baby will be chosen to take her place as the only Musicthiss on earth. A Musicthiss can start playing music from inside the womb (the music is quiet, but still noticeable), which is how the mother knows she’s carrying the next Musicthiss. No one knows exactly how many Musicthiss' there has ever been but counting all the Musicthiss’ on record there has been 15. In chronological order there were: (Note to Reader: I cut out all the names of all the Musicthiss'. It isn't extremely important!) Most of us may think that living forever would be great, but by the words of Ana: “Living to see your children and grandchildren die of old age is no blessing.” All Musicthiss’ were very different. If you notice, not one of them shares a title with another. You may also see that it is not rare for a Musicthiss to give birth to the next. If a Musicthiss gets pregnant she has 40% chance of having a boy and 60% chance of having a girl. If it’s a girl, there is a 90% chance it will be a Musicthiss, which will drain the life out of the mother as she gives birth. This is why most Musicthiss’ don’t have children; either they wanted to live longer, their spouse wanted them to live longer, or they never married. All Musicthiss’ have the power to engulf someone of their choosing into a musical bubble and pop their ear drums -- a painful reprimand that makes most people scared of Musicthiss’. This fact is emphasized in history school-books taught at Albanian schools. All Musicthiss' have kept secret their other powers so no one can say exactly what they can do. Ana |

That's a really neat idea! I do have some questions, though. How long do the Musicthiss' usually live? Do they ever just get tired of watching their friends and family die, and try to have a baby girl because of that? How are they chosen? And what is their purpose in your story? But I do really like the idea, and I think that it could make an awesome story!

Okay, I'm just wondering about the part where you said that pretty much no man would marry a woman who plays music all day long, and then later you said that it isn't rare for a Musicthiss to give birth to the next Musicthiss. But other than that, they sound pretty interesting

Musicthiss' averagely live for about 500 years and 5 of them have had a baby to commit suicide. A new Musicthiss is chosen when the old one dies and the new one is the last conceived baby girl at the time when the old Musicthiss dies. (Does that make any sense?) The main character in my story is Ana the Musicthiss, She is a spy on the evil king. She also marries the king's assassin. She has eight children in eight years starting when she's only 17 and her husband, 19. (Two sets of multiples.) Her oldest child, a girl, was a Musicthiss but committed suicide in the womb to save her mother's and triplet brothers' lives. So, in my book you get to see all the little adventures they go on and the pain a Musicthiss has when one of her children does not like to dance. (Gasp!) Her oldest boy is also a rat from the time he was born and his twin is an angel - a very fun dynamic. Very cute story, though, if I do say so myself. Everyone I've told it to loved it and begged me to write it all down. Also, to answer Sapphira's question, Some of the Musicthiss' who had the next weren't married and some of their marriages you can't count because, although they resulted in a child, they didn't last long. Inesdar, Being a Musicthiss is like being able to fly. There can be some purpose and it can be useful, but most of all it's fun!. Some of the people in my world like the Musicthiss and some don't. Some can get enchanted by the strange music, and some hate the fact that she can tell basically what they're thinking. Ana |
