As I've mentioned, the shofar have created plants with magic in them that they use for their own magic. An example of this is redvine. Redvine can grow very thick and long, but it can also move on its own when it smells blood. When it attacks, it strikes for the heart, infiltrates the arteries and spreads throughout the body. It emits a paralyzing toxin to keep the victim from fighting.

Shofar sorceresses have used blow darts with the redvine in it to weaken someone enough to control their mind, sending them into dreamscape. Dreamscape is a dream where they create a believable scenario that causes the victim to forget what they were doing and believe it is real. In this dream they present an offer to accept moker (a stone with magical powers), and when the person accepts the stone, they can wake up and will be obedient to serve their sorceress.

There is an antidote to the paralysis toxin, but once you are in dreamscape the only way out is to resist the offer and kill the sorceress. Somehow killing the sorceress in your dream frees you from her power, almost like a separation of minds so you can wake up. She will still be alive however, so you must be quick to find her or she will shoot you with another dart. Killing her will knock her down for a little bit, kind of like a migraine would.
