Post subject:  The Teleporters

When good needs a little divine intervention, Lyrianur sends the Teleporters, no matter which dimension. If, by any chance, you know of a good name suggestion, please tell me.
The Teleporters become aware of their role at their coming of age ceremony. So in Edradria, a member of the Order of the Ivory Horn tells them after the Sword ceremony. On Earth, well, they get recruited by the Knights Templar during their freshmen year of college.
They aren't humans though. They're higher dimensional beings. They can move between dimensions, alternate realities, and time with ease. They go wherever Lyrianur sends them.
They are warriors with uncanny skill with any weapons. They do not age either. In fact, you can think of them as warrior angels.
Each world has it's own branch. At the moment though, I only have two worlds and two branches. The Knights Templar (who will be discussed in HWSF) and the Order of the Ivory Horn.
The Teleporter's headquarters is a fortress rooted in nothingness and standing in space. It is from here that they wage their campaign against Malxor and the minions of evil.

What I need help with is developing a new name for them. I will think about any critique or ideas you might come up with.

Let me know if they don't work, and I'll invent some more. :D

I can do that.

I think Talin works the best.

Are they just born to normal humans?

Author:  Varon [ December 22nd, 2010, 2:01 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

The humans are. Once they are recruited to go through training aided by their natural skills to become the warrior that they will be. Then then most of them go back to their normal life, waiting for when they might be needed.
There's a core garrison of 250 permanent members at the HQ because in their worlds, they are dead. These 250 perform most of the missions unless a real army is needed.
An interesting part is that very few members of the branches are actually Teleporters. In the Knights Templar branch currently, there are three Teleporters.

How would they live normal lives if they don't age?

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

They can change forms, whether it's into an older version of themselves, or an alien life form from another dimension.

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

One of their limitations is that they can't be within one hundred miles of their other-dimension/Earth selves. If they do that, there's so much power and energy of their soul, that a black hole is formed. The black hole would destroy the world and the solar system. It is a direct interference in Lyrianur's plan and could cause massive repercussions, except that it would be part of the plan. Drat, I hit a paradox.

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Wait, so can they tell when they start to get too close?

Author:  Varon [ January 19th, 2011, 11:54 am ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Yes, they can. It's a sixth sense of theirs that is innately part of them. When they begin to get too close, the sense gives them a feeling of sparks trying explode within them. As they get closer, the feeling gets stronger and stronger until it actually does explode. At that point there's a black hole where the planet used to be.

Whoa, that would be weird...
Has it ever happened?

Author:  Varon [ January 19th, 2011, 2:38 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Once, I think. It happened way, way back in the past. Once you get past the betrayal of Malxor, records get a little murky. His name was Acetheian, and he was from the Alternate Earth #13256, he traveled to alternate Earth #13255, and entered there right next to his self from there. :P Not a good place to be that day. Though, after that happened, the Gringhers were rather frightened and stopped invading the Earths.

Sounds like a fun day!

Yep. That's what I thought when I learned that it happened. It reminds me a bit of a Jack Sparrow moment.

How does the Order of the Talin Oath sound? I'll just have to draw up the oath.

If any of you are familiar with DC Comics character "The Phantom Stranger," he's is essentially a Teleporter. That's what they do, what their power is like, and the anonymity that they use.

Sounds good to me!
Sorry, not familiar with him. :P

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Okay.

Thanks.

Originally, they were created as defenders of the first races while Lyrianur taught them what they would need to know to survive, flourish, and and re-join him. The Teleporters' job was to keep the first Krecks away from them.

However, the first five were confused and twisted by Malxor, joining him and forming the Cabal.

EDIT: On the Entity organization system I'm working on, Teleporters are an 8 out of 10. The Cabal is a 9.

Is higher on your system more powerful or something?

Author:  Varon [ May 17th, 2011, 4:12 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Yeah, and the absolute highest on the scale is a 10.

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

So the bad Teleporters are more powerful. How many Teleporters are there?

Author:  Varon [ May 18th, 2011, 2:00 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Right, if they weren't, the good Teleporters could just wipe them out.

Lots, probably two from each universe in the multiverse.

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

My goodness, if there are only two from each universe, how many universes do you have!

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

An infinite number, each is an alternate of an alternate of an alternate, and so forth.

Author:  Lord Kieren Mimetes [ May 19th, 2011, 3:47 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

So there are an infinite number of Teleporters?! My brain is going for a spin.

Author:  Varon [ May 19th, 2011, 4:16 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Not quite, there could be. I'm not exactly sure since I don't deal with all the universes within the multiverse.

Post subject:  Re: The Teleporters

Okay, an infinite number of Teleporters won't work, so I've scratched that part.
