well, here it goes.

A History Of The Elves – In the light of the heavens we where created, and we where called Elves. Created in times of old before the beginning of the earth and before the sun was yet made. For we had no need of it, but rather rejoiced in the light of The One, far brighter then the flame of the earth. All was good in thous times, and we Elves lived in bliss. Praising the One of whom we came. But darkness awoke in the heart of Simrog, who was latter called Hóshek, that is Darkness. And he desired to rule men for his own ends and he gathered many to himself saying, “ Brothers we have been rejected! Thrown aside as rags in faces of these..Men. Arise! For all is not lost, are there not realms for us now to dwell? We shall have dominion over all men forever and I shall give ye all realms of thy own. And ye shall be free. Free of, Him”. And many listened to his fell lies of deceit and where led astray. But the One saw evil in Hóshek and banished him to Earth, to dwell in misery until the Land Of Fire was completed. With Hóshek went many of my brethren and they became known as Goblins, for the light of the High Lorwen left them, and with it their former beauty. So they waged war with the young race of Men. First fell The West, for Hóshek's hate was great against them because they refused him and his Darkness but laughed and spat in his face. They where a proud people and thus came their fall, for in pride they set their forces against Simrog in hast. But like fire to chaff they stood for little and where soon consumed in the fire of the Dark. Little is told about them in this tale, but know that Men suffered greatly. Because of the evil Simrog wrought, and the pain and tears of Men, our Father showed Compassion on them in their greatest need. The Gates of Heaven where opened. The Dark fled before us as we descended on the Goblins, and like a bolt of lightning they where consumed in the wrath of the One. ~ Isoldwyn Lorwen Of The Elves ~

This is my first draft of the first part of the history of the Elves...so tell me what you think! :)

Ooh.. looks fascinating. It feels original, but gets the advantage of playing by the edges of the traditional and almost cliche origins of Elves in typical fantasies, as well as enjoying the benefits of a semi-normal Fall of the Adversary. I like how the emphasis of Hoshek's evil falls on his desire to rule mankind, and not necessarily the typical pride -> fall.

By the way, a "Lorwen" is an Elf king, and Elves call God the "High Lorwen".

Very nice. I especially like the touch 'Lorwen' gives.

I originally had Iorwen, but that sounds to much like "Iorwen-Ben-Adar" (Tom Bombadil in Elvish). so that's what I changed it to.
