Hello, I'm new to Holy Worlds and have an idea I would like to do. You see, I'm a graphic novelist, and I have yet to get published. Well, mainly it's because I have yet to finish my manga. I want to do this sort of ongoing excercise to improve my story development.
I want to write a story on the forums in a specific world. No copyright, and anyone can jump in. A fun project that could help me and others to improve our ability's.
The rules will be pretty much the same as the forums, and constructive criticism will be accepted on a separate topic. I, and anyone else, will write a number of short stories based in the story world. Ideas used in the world will be PUBLIC PROPERTY, or, at least the property of Holy Worlds. If someone uses something from their own stories, they need only say that it is theirs, and no one else can touch it. Also, any history written for the world, written by anyone, would be canon. So you can't say this rune was destroyed like this, while someone else said it was destroyed like this, unless it is a matter of the character's perception.
The world I have in mind is an allegorical world. Much like Narnia with few cities mostly covered in woods and wilderness. There will be no use of already existing races: Elves, Dwarves, etc. Instead, people will be allowed to make any race they want within reason. Only some animals can talk, and I have a magic system that I would like to use for it.
I would rather not use a magic system, but rather use people born with special talent, much like super powers, like being able to control fire or being very strong. I think that would be the best thing we could do.
The term "god", (little G, even at the beginning of a sentence), refers to angel-like spirits that govern over woods, rivers, mountains, etc. While evil gods are demon-like beings who rebel against God, (Big G) the source of all existence and tempt man into evil, or they will no longer be able to exist.
Please tell me if I can do this and feel free to critique this idea. I plan to do this as a bit of a just for fun excercise and hope you will be willing to let me. I also would like to know where to begin writing it as well as where to place the criticism thread.
