The Dark Age begins with Harok lifting Kaitu’s scepter to the sky, casting darkness for miles around. He then invades Codesta with the help of the Broones. Feder gets the Reditz Scepter. Then they take Balrain and Ta’Gri without needing to use much force. After that, they take out Paligbal, but not before the Peripels retreated to Lemsoon with their scepter.
With the slow moving ships, Tanith is able to orchestrate areas of concentration for his defenses, as well as the dark mass that spans about fifteen miles in perimeter. Yelen ships snuck out of Balrain with the Grenett Scepter and a fleet of gryphon coasting over the clouds. Carrier birds are also sent to send and receive messages in coordinating the return attacks. Doing so retakes Balrain and Kaitubae, forcing a large chunk of Harok’s forces back to Haroktan to defend their homeland.
Broone shakers cause earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis to decimate Balrain, forcing Grenett troops and animals to take out Broone ships off their coast. Yelen and Whitten troops continue to barrage Haroktan, keeping Harok confined to his island as well as his dark scepter. This enables them to use Peripel seers to catch and stop most shipments of supplies and troops from the Southwest and Northeast between Tanithari and the North Cap.
The strength of the Rebels is: mixed scepter powers, a horde of resources, and captives to use as slaves and forced soldiers.
The strength of the Faithful is: advanced technology using the Beluvan power sources, healers to regenerate the wounded, and advanced weapons to push them back after the initial shock of the attack.
The Grennet forces land on Codesta’s Northern shore and retake all but the southern peninsula which has natural barriers from mountains.
After a hundred and fifty years of the tide going back and forth between the two sides, Harok launches his four sided offensive against Tanithari. Silvish troops swarm from the North and South. The northern fleet combines lightning and arrows that fall straight down on the enemy by mind control. Tanith counters with gas bombs from Trinix chemicals that shut down the nervous system, wiping out large sections of troops at a time.
As Tanith’s soldiers fought to the end of Harok’s line, the darkness diminished and disappeared along with Harok. He was never found. Haroktan was a poverty stricken wasteland when Tanith arrived and they welcomed his assistance.
To the south, the tandem of Bluvan pulse shooters and Maroom healers pushed back the south front all the way onto Niktar shores and retook Paligbal, which had all its temples destroyed and animal statues everywhere. That was the last the Faithful heard from anyone on Paligbal before the darkness rose and covered the entire continent with miles to spare on every side. Overtime that black cloud covered Ta’Gri’s eastern coast, then all the way to the southern tip before Tanith sent Peripel guardians into the darkness to find the source. None ever returned and the darkness grew, soon overtaking Ta’Gri and Drakkenhof.
By the end of the Dark Age, the black skies covered the globe, except for a line southeast from Kaitubae to Wijubal and up to Trinix. These six continents received all the refugees of the taken continents and used their collective scepter powers to build resources and a barrier to keep the darkness from overtaking their land as well. This marks the end of the Dark Age, and the beginning of the Age of the Republics.
