I've made up a partial written language for a story I have and really like the idea, but I've never done it before and was wondering if--anyone here who has--anyone has any tips?

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Uhh...unsure what link Airi was talking about, but here is something Neil Of Erk wrote on languages:

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1242

But, yah, that's all I could fine. I don't think I have any advice for this subject seeing as I've never created a language, but good luck! :D

And...another link:

*claps * Told you one of my Link Elves would find them!

Good work, Bethy, those are two of the ones I was thinking of! I think there is another somewhere, but I am not sure. That will give you a good start though, Caeli! These threads are very in depth.

It appears the Link elves (Elanhil particularly) thinks that there is a thread by Inesdar on this subject, and also one by Vanya Jaynin, so we shall see what else emerges, Caeli.

You are very welcome :)

Not really, I've had link elves for a while, although I'm not sure I have ever alerted the general HW public of their existance...
