The title was general to draw your attention. What I really mean is, who is interested in playing a rule-based, fully structured diceless RPG. We'd use the Basic Exploits system defined in this PDF:

Attachment:
File comment: Please read the Introduction and Basic Exploits section...but ignore the Advanced rules.
Active Exploits Diceless Roleplaying.pdf [1.24 MiB]
Downloaded 71 times

I will direct the game (the role of the director is described in the rules) and try to help everyone with the rules. However, if any of you have any experience GMing or directing RPGs, especially diceless variants, you would make me a very happy person if you would offer to take over.

Once we've gone through a game, you'll all be just as familiar with the rules as I am, and if someone would like to direct the next game at that point, that would also be cool.

If you're still interested at this point, please comment and indicate that you are. Keep in mind that this IS NOT a time commitment. Due to the fact that school is in session and my time and probably yours is rather limited, the game will progress very slowly.

Also, please offer suggestions for a setting. I'm thinking Middle Earth, but other well known (at least on Holy Worlds) options including pirates, Wild West, Ruritania, and just about anything else would work. Honestly, I'm rooting for either Middle Earth or the Wild West.

Awesome! Would you prefer Middle Earth or Wild West? Or something else?

Wild West  That'll make it harder for me to find a good character, but I think it'll be more fun. :D

I might be interested (though I have little to no free time lately)... probably Middle-Earth, though anything would be fun.

I've been primarily interested in learning dice RPG, but this will probably be a good starting point, if nothing else. Besides, my character is an avid roleplayer and I know next to nothing about it, so anything is an improvement. Count this newbie in. :D

(I'm in school and have zero time, but given what you said I think it might be feasible.)

How much reading of the rule-book do we have to do? I read/skimmed the introduction etc.

I'm interested. Just a tip, consider a very focused/small scale scenario, vs a world travelling epic. Because there is no way that a long epic will ever reach a finale, much less get going well.
Any particular reason you'd want a diceless game? (besides a traumatic childhood event to do with dice)

Since I know almost nothing about it, I don't know. ;) D&D is likely, however. (I probably won't play it, but at some point, I'm going to have study up on that...)

Oh, I'd be most interested in Lord of the Rings, I think, but will work with whatever.

I'd be interested in playing.

I'm up for any kind of setting.

I'm interested, even though my current level of RPG knowledge is virtually nonexistent. And I'm also a fan of having a Middle Earth setting, though I think I'd enjoy any. :D

I'm interested... and just to mix things up, I'll say: Middle Earth, with pirates. :dieshappy:

First off, it's perfectly alright if we use Basic Exploits. But what made you choose said system?
If we want LOTR goodness, might I recommend Legends of Middle Earth?

Hmmmm. Maybe. I'll see what happens first.

I recommend GURPS. It's a lot more versatile than D&D, so you can do campaigns in more genres, everything from space opera to steampunk to fantasy to pulp.

GURPS Lite, a free slim version of GURPS.

Cool. :D My character would have a strong bias for fantasy though.

I might be interested ... but I'm not really a fan of diceless RPGs. And I don't really have time or attention to spare, even for a high-latency slow-moving asynchronous campaign :)

Oh, and I'd much prefer a fantasy setting, but preferably not a well-known one like Tolkien's Middle Earth ...

I'd be interested, seeing as I have brought up the idea of running a campaign with members of holy worlds plenty of times before. Though that was with my own world Skalahseh which may be why I've never gotten a bite before. I'd like fantasy too but am really not interested in doing it via Middle Earth, I've always felt that Lord of the Rings had too heavy a sense of finality to add stories to it.
