Magic: A force powered by the will of those in service to the Dark One and gained only through unholy sacrifices to his name.

Glithis Niktal: (Or "faith of mind" in old Kellendross Druidish.) A force allowed through necessity by the Bright One when magic was gifted to those with a will to do evil.
All that is required is faith and it can be used. Though training in its techniques helps.

This CANNOT be used for evil purposes. Willfully sinning causes you to lose the abilities.

Basically an elaboration on Matthew 21:21, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Why must we be limited to casting mountains into the sea and uprooting fig trees? Why not blow it up? Set it on fire? Heal wounds?

But in order to make the world a bit more challenging and entertaining, I gave it limits as in the strain it puts upon the mind to form what it is you want, using parts of the mind that have never been exercised and causing the user to pass out if over used.

Very unique view on things here. I also like the limit, it makes things somewhat more realistic.

Thanks, limitless supernatural powers take away ALOT of the adventure in my opinion.

Don't get me started on omnipotent characters... I love them too much... but that is for a different thread.

By the way, I liked your Glithis Niktal system. "Why not blow it up?" is going to be a quote for me for a good while, I figure. Its Biblical base is cool, too.

Thanks, that verse just stuck with me for a long time.

What from do these sacrifices take?
