Weekly Challenge #242: Write a mystery.

Directions:
1. Post on the challenge thread, declaring the goals you have committed to. This must be done before midnight on Monday.
2. When you have finished your goals, post on the challenge thread again, stating what goals you have completed, how many times you have completed them, and whether any of them were combined.
3. At midnight on Saturday you are not allowed to report any more finished goals, and the challenge is over.

Rules:
1. You can repeat the weekly challenges, and get more points, but if you repeat your own personal goal, you will not get extra points.
2. The organizer has the right to veto any personal goal that seems too easy (i.e. writing a sentence).

Points:
You can earn points in these ways:
1. completing the weekly challenge
2. repeating the weekly challenge
3. completing your personal goal
4. combining your personal goal and the weekly challenge

Hehe...atpollard is in the middle of two. I vote his game responses count as they come from the POV of the mystified. :diehappyhalo

I don't think confusion counts as mystery. o.O

Weekly Challenge Accepted.
Personal Challenge: write two 'journal' enteries this week (1 public and 1 private)

[So does anyone have 'An A.D.D. Guide to writing Mysteries' (<144 characters)?]

Wiki to the rescue: http://m.wikihow.com/Write-a-Mystery-Story

Longer than 144 characters, but it has pictures!

Well, it's got some of my usual twists, so maybe the mystery is "How can I not throttle him this time?"

Not as much romance in this one, though. I am enjoying Tony's (mis)-adventures! Just because I'm pausing romancing doesn't mean I'm avoiding it. Humoursly, 1429.4 might have kids from current events in with the team.

Confusion isn't a bad thing, I just wasn't sure that how Ben reacts to having his discussion interrupted by a grenade thrown into a crowded diner would count as atpollard writing a mystery. :)

There is more to Tony's misadventure than meets the eye and I have decided to formally tie it together with the other mystery threads running through the plots and adventures. It will not play out in a week, but over the week, seeds will be planted all over the place that will intertwine and reveal the hidden mystery ... one that requires diplomacy to avoid a war and a crisis.

I've been going through old Marco notes and the Diplomat/Liaison thing keeps coming up. Marco as Paladin leading others to unite. It would be really funny to invite a few folks to the dance Saturday (Day 56?)...

Wait, I was supposed to work on Red Rain last week? I ended up legitimately working on Peter's Angel... *ducks*

Okay, no idea how I'm going to make this work, but I will write a conflict based (personal goal) mystery (group challenge). Can't let atpollard get too far ahead.

Personal goal tied in to Weekly goal. Semi-mysterious slave ring gets busted by your favorite cigar smoking twelve year old.

I should have accepted the weekly challenge. There's a mystery afoot in my story. Oh well, too late now.

Personal goals finished.
