In my time here, Holy Worlders have spent a great deal of time interacting with one another's characters, but since so much of that is in print, I have found that I often fall into the old reader's habit of having no idea how to pronounce the names of friends' characters, and they often have no idea how to pronounce mine. Here is a nice thread to use for inventorying names you have used that are frequently mispronounced or write up a list of all character names to avoid such troubles.

Here are a few of mine.

Kaida: (contrary to the Japanese origin, it is pronounced KAY-duh)

Guilo: (GHEE-low)

Aderyn: (ah-DEER-rin)

Aren: (AR-en) (R. N.)

Sang: (As the past tense of sing)

Erronys: (ear-OH-nis)

Pernoxnix: (pur-NOKS-niks)

Lakkerfax: (lak-UR-faks)

Lumevita: (loom-VEE-tah)

Fulgar: (FOOL-(oo as in book)-gar)

Umectra: (oom-EK-trah)

Stellwento: (stehl-WHEN-toe)

Hope Faerwald" Hope Fair-wald

I'm pretty sure that's how Faerwald is pronounced, as I can't actually find the correct pronunciation anywhere.

I misspelled.

It is Ouska. Not Ouksa. So, yes, the S is pronounced before the K. It even comes before the k. I just forgot how to spell my own character's names.

Just thought I'd ask. :D It's hard when every other word a sci-fi or fantasy author writes is underlined in red squiggles.
