So, my race got renamed to something less easily pronouncable. :D
But that's not the only change. I've changed their venom glands from stonefish to platypus venom. No lethality, lots of pain and suffering. Everything else stays the same. They cry red and have silver hair that they wear short.

I don't have their psychology developed. So far, they're more carnivorous than humans are, so definitely better predators. The best I can tell with someone else I'm working with this on, they are very highly functioning sociopaths by our standards. They're extremely comfortable with certain forms of violence, and maybe squeamish about others. They have a rich dueling culture, and everyone carries a fighting sword about the size of a smatchet (16 inches overall, 10 inch blade). So, help?

Oh yeah, one of the consequences of their having venom glands, basically an innate self-defense "I win" is that they blame victims of violent crimes worse than humans do. Any thoughts on mitigating this? Thanks a mil.

I thought the primary reason that humans blame victims of violent crime is because 'they got themselves into the situation' and 'they should have known better', or something similar. How does the Delshasrae venom affect this? * cocks head *

It affects them because they have an "I win" button they can push when they get attacked. If they don't push it and/or have blood on their honor blade, was it REALLY a mugging?

Oh.. so because of their venom, it's impossible for them to lose a fight? That kindof makes more sense. Because then if they do die or anything then people assume that they were in a duel and that was why they did not use their venom?

It's not impossible, just really hard to do, especially given that everyone has them. They're comfortable with violence, but they're an aggressive race, not a violent one. It's more that if they can't find the venom anti bodies in the "perpatrator's" system, law enforcement starts asking interesting questions.
