Cherris: 18 years old, average height, light brown hair, blue eyes.

Cherris was raised by her parents going back and forth between their home in the country and their home in the city. Her father was a knight, and her mother died when she was about 10. She loves books, music, nature, and her friends. Evanlynn, the princess, is her best friend, but they've been growing apart because Evanlynn wants to protect her from all the issues going on. Cherris understands this, but misses how close they used to be.

Cherris is emotionally very strong because her family has been through a lot, and she has built her confidence on the truth. She is very insightful into others' character. She is quiet and reserved.

Does she have any friends that she is closer to now, since Evanlynn has been growing apart from her?

Does she miss her mother?

What are her faults? Are there any that she does not admit, or realize?

What does she fear the most?

Who is she closest to? Who would she confide in?

She has very few other friends, which is part of the reason she becomes so close to Kynton (my main character).

She misses her mother, but time has allowed her to remember without being pained.

I suppose her faults would be that she cares a little too much what people think of her, and she has a streak of pride. I would say that she never sees these things in herself until after the fact, but then she recognizes it.

She fears losing the people she loves- both physically in death or separation and emotionally. Not that she believes she could make them stop loving her, more that she's afraid of failing them, I suppose. I would say that during the course of her life she is learning that she can't let fear control her.

She is really close to her father, as they've gone through everything together. They have a really strong, honest relationship.

Another fault I thought of is that she is a fixer: when she sees a solution she tends to jump in to fix it too quickly, even when its better to let the other person figure it out. But she's learning :)

You say her father was a knight. What is he now?

If she had to choose, would she choose solitude or company?

What is one event that has strengthened her emotionally?

The knights were disbanded after the death of the king by the reagent, so now her father has no official place in the court. They live off the land they own.

Depends on who the company is. If its one of the few people she's close to, then she'd choose to be with them. Otherwise, she'd rather be alone.

Her mother's death is the most obvious one. She and her father comforted each other and became very close. It made her realize that life is short and unpredictable, and gave her compassion for others.
