Post subject:  I Challenge You!

For those who are putting off their writing, or those that are striving to get their story finished, or those that are trying to find time to write. I challenge you to write at least one page- to the most what you think how long a chapter should be (which for me I am finding around five computer pages some are longer). This is suppose to be fun, a challenge, and an accountability thing. Each week post your updated word and page count on your story. That's your accountability - if you want to participate that's fine, if not that's fine too. I thought this challenge just might help you get motivated on your stories some.

Love and Blessings :dieshappy:

:book: COOL! :D You will get it done, my husband tells me...take it one page at a time. If you write one page a day that is one page closer to being done. ;)

hmmmm so maybe this challenge isn't sticking o.O :(

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

This sounds like a great idea! Is it supposed to be one page per day or one page per week?

Author:  Lady Heather [ March 18th, 2014, 9:17 am ]
Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

I think it should be one page per day you write.....BUT..... update your word count on here weekly....does that make sense? :D I hope it does :dieshappy:

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

Okay. I might be able to do that. Except on Tuesdays when I am gone for at least 13 hours. :P Also, some Sundays might not be possible as I don't always get on the computer for very long, if at all. So, I shall aim for 5 pages a week. Does that sound okay?

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

I have been thinking of doing something like this, so I will try it. I will try six days a week. But it will be a page of anything that I need to be writing at the time, since that changes a lot.

What is your page count since you started this Lady Heather?

Author:  Lady Heather [ March 19th, 2014, 9:11 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

My page count is 179 and is complete until I add in illustrations to it :dieshappy:

I missed this somehow, but great idea, big sistah! :D I believe I'll accept...maybe a goal of 5 pages a week like Miss Elizabeth. :)

Yes I would write about 5 pages a day, until I reached my goal of completing the story. :)

That sounds good! keep writing, and my husband would remind me to write a page at a time.... well one page a day if my time was tight. :)
Which I think is where I am now, busy season in other areas of my life is starting! so my writing is going to be cut back.

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

Write as much as time allows you...but the minimum pages or word count a week needs to me a minimum, so that way it's setting a goal for you.

Like, for me, I wanted to write at least five pages a day or so....so I would press towards that goal! Word counts the same way. If you want to write 5,000 words a week, than that should be a goal. See? ;)

Succeeded in getting a page today, but barely. I have not missed a day yet: now I will be doing a full week, since I started in the middle of last week. (I think I went over a page the day before yesterday!)

I am ashamed to say that I missed two days last week, though one of them I believe I got a partial page. I believe I am doing better this week though.

Good for you Analea and Patrick!

I failed. I didn't even write a single word, let alone a single page last week.

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

Ive noticed a few of you are dealing with feeling like you failed. Or saying that you have. The only one that makes you feel that way is the enemy, don't side with him...he can and will make you feel worse than what you do. He will literally beat you up about not getting to write that day or week. That's why this challenge was started to keep on accountability. And to make goals for yourself and not procrastinate and do it all the last minute. You all are doing well, I understand when life gets tough, tough enough to not write some days. But its also a push! People out in our world need us, they need the Lord, they need to know him in ways that we do. It is up to us to spread that through out and bring others to him through our stories and poetry and such. Don't let the dragon of Laziness hinder you from accomplishing your goals as well...these are warnings, potential enemies that lurk in our world that we have to be careful about as we go about completing our mission. Keep going guys are you doing well! :D

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

Actually I forgot exactly how I did last week. I might have missed one day, or only done a partial page, but I know I did not miss more than one day. I have not missed a day this week, though I did a smallish page the first day, but not exactly a partial one, and the pages since then have been big pages... but I ramble.

Anyways, this challenge has been good for me. I have been getting more things done.

I don't think I quite got 750 words per day the last week or so, but I think I at least did some writing each day. :D

I did a bit of writing each day. Not as much as I would have hoped, but I did manage to do a bit each day. :D

I have gotten writing done in a more bunched up manner, and it probably does not add up to six pages a week, but I am getting back into the pattern.

Post subject:  Re: I Challenge You!

Ok writers the writing part is down....but how about editing? What are your editing goals for a week at a time? Editing is not an easy task it takes careful attention and consideration and a good eye....DO NOT rush your editing....bad book reviews because of common errors and such are terrible based on some reviews ive read about some books that I was interested. Also have a second set of eyes look at your work, they will be able to catch the mistakes that you may have missed. Also when you get criticized for it don't take it personally but as a positive thing to make your book even better....who knows maybe someday you will have a best seller!! Also illustrations? do you draw a picture of two per chapter in your book? if you do how long does it usually take you? and DO NOT rush this neither. You should never RUSH a piece you are creating. If you get stuck pray and ask for help. Both from the Lord and from others. :)
