Hey everybody,

I myself have dealt with the issue of just sitting down and taking time to write. It is better now since I HAVE MADE TIME FOR IT. :)

I know that with the holidays and the business in your lives as well as mine probably has hindered your ability to sit and write for at least an hour a day.
In this a lot of you probably have families, work, chores, homework, etc.... you work hard all day with everyday life and before you know it time is gone, another day is done. There once again that book, art, etc...sits calling your name and you’re just dying to find time and finish it. "Where do I have time to write or do art?" you ask.
Well I have discovered a key....(The Lord has revealed it to me)
And I’ve felt led by Him to share it with you.

It has been made known to be, that in order to have self-discipline in your writing and in everything else in your life, YOU MUST AND NEED to be disciplined in the Lord. Setting at least an hour of your day for just him! Once you become disciplined in him everything else falls into alignment...YES EVEN YOUR WRITING! :dieshappy:

I am a busy mom with a little one year old precious little boy, I help my husband on the farm, on top of that my housework, and I work with horses when the season comes in. Some have made the comment "wow how do you find the time to write, with being a wife and mother?" The answer is being disciplined in the Lord. Realize this as well, the Lord has given us each gifts and talents; he wants us to glorify him by using them and blessing others with them. He has strongly convicted me on this, that is why I am taking my art and writing to the next level. The Lord loves each and every one of you... And so my brothers and sisters, once you become self-disciplined in Him, you will become also in your life even in your art and writing. So just as you set aside an hour (or a tenth of your time) you should also set aside some time for your writing, art, etc...

Hope this is encouraging and I hope this helps you. ;)

Love you,
Heather

This was such an encouragement to me, Heather! Thank you so much for sharing it.

One of the things I had fallen behind on recently was reading my bible. It was at a time when really I needed to read it more, so much was going on and rather than 'being too busy, and just having too much on my mind', I just needed to rest at the feet of Jesus. I got an email from a friend, reminding me that the most important thing was staying close to Him, and keeping up with spending time with Jesus, even though everything else feels like its upside down.

So I've been setting aside time every day, like I used to, to reading my bible, and just spending time reading. Once I've got back into a routine with that, I'm going to also spend time, whether it's in the evening or afternoon, to putting twenty minutes aside to writing. Whether it's my book, a blog post or even working on a drabble, as long as I'm writing, and so working on improving my style, I'll be happy.

So thanks again for sharing, it was encouraging to read.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Lady Heather. :) It was a very good reminder. I am not very good at spending time with the Lord regularly - that has been something I've had to fight for every inch of the way. But when I do, it's worth it, and it does make everything work much smoother. So it makes sense that it would help with the writing. :)
