 Post subject: Solomon and the Baby...

I'm sorry this just bothers me. Everyone always assumes Solomon was really going to let the baby get you know... It's just thats not how it reads to me. It was more or less a ploy to see which woman was really the child's mother Solomon was not likely going to let the baby actually die because of these two woman.

Who is "everyone"? I never thought he actually would; I always knew it was a ploy to see which woman loved the baby more.
(And even if I weren't the baby's mother, I'd freak out if someone threatened to cut a baby in half. I don't know what was wrong with that woman. o.O )

*Nods* I've always thought it was just a ploy. Solomon was a very wise man - he knew what he was doing. :)

The only person or character that I've ever known or known of who seriously thought that Solomon would have let the baby be cut in half was Jim in Huckleberry Finn, and a great deal of that was Huck's incompetence at telling the story. :)
