In my world the Faolore are a race similar to wolves. The Faolore have long fur coats, with gray, white, black, and light brown fur covering their body. They have bushy tails, legs longer than coyotes' and dogs' legs, and bright blue eyes.

What makes them different from normal wolves, is the fact that they can mindspeak with the Vasai.

The Faolore live in packs on the small continent of Imendriah, with the Vasai. Exept for Malka, who is a companion for my MC Teresse.

Interesting. So they're essentially wolves that can reason and mind-speak? Are they sentient or just beasts that can communicate basic emotions to the Vasai? They sound interesting.

Well, they look like a grey wolf, but their eyes are a brighter blue than that of a regular wolf. They have the ability to communicate with the Vasai, an elf-like race that lives on a small continent with the rest of the mythical creatures. A Faolore can only mind-speak with the Vasai or another Faolore. They use pictures, emotions and words to speak and are usually very mature and wise.

They live in packs, usually traveling in the mountains or forests, but some live with the Vasai as companions. Malka, who is one of my main characters (often found in Character Introductions) is a Faolore that has chosen to be with Terra (my MC) as a mentor or guardian.

They can also live much longer than a wolf... Faolores can be as old as 80! They have extremely long lives.

Are they the same size as a wolf? How do they decide who they will 'adopt' as a companion?

They are the same size as a wolf. Since the Faolores are very smart and learn quickly, they make excellent tutors for the Vasai. Since the people of the Vasai live a long time, they like to make lasting friendships... some of the Faolore don't like roaming in packs for the rest of their lives, so they find a Vasai who needs a tutor or a friend, and move in with them (at the permission of the Vasai). It doesnt happen that often, but in Terra's case, they needed a Faolore that knew enough about the Vasai to teach an exiled one, so Malka went.
