It is 1934 in a horror metalpunk world of my making. The Alchemists are threatened by burglars who are stealing the potions and magic mixes. One young treasure hunter hires an ex-wizard Alchemist named Abraham and proposes his theory to him. Basically, the burglars are selling the sorcery to the fearsome pirates who are hiding them in the Ghostly Corriders in an effort to rid the world once-and-for-all of science and magic. The pair encounter horrible opposition in their quest to find a mysterious orange energy that was created by the legendary Miythda, a wizard alchemist. Even stranger than the disappearance of this man is the re-appearance of a dark lord who claims to have killed every child's soul and replace them with his own spirit. At the end of the story, it is revealed that this man is a phony and works for the true dark lord, whose identity is hidden until the second book. I apologize for this mess, but what do you think? Does it sound similar to anything you've read? |

Jonathan Garner wrote: It sounds pretty original to me. I agree. I don't understand the connection between the first part – the part about the alchemy burglary – and the second part – about the orange energy. I also am not sure who the man who disappeared is – is it the man who created the orange energy? No, I can't say it really reminds me of anything. It seems pretty original. |

Just curious, how do you define metal-punk? |

That's a cool idea! One I'd definitely read. Why do the Pirates want to put an end to science and magic? - Gaunt (formerly TerraRandom) |
