This is some more information about the nation of Véhonas in the world of Enderion. If you want a birds-eye view of ALL the nations in Enderion, then I also have a thread for that here. Véhonas Véhonas is one of the largest nations in the world. It is located in the Southeast and most of its people live in the eastern part of the nation. Véhonans are tall and proud and generally keep to themselves and trade with the rest of the world little. They are a loose confederation of small tribes that only gather together in time of war. The country is divided into roughly twelve different sub-tribes, each ruled by a leader that is determined differently for each tribe. The main leader of the country lives in Vehon but has little real power, outside of calling the entire nation to war. Legal cases, however, are taken to the leader in Vehon. The nation's geography is large and sprawling and sparsely populated. Véhonas has very little dealings with other nations, they generally keep to themselves. The few merchants in the country live in the cities and mainly trade with the Culvinian islands. In antiquity, a great deal of land trade went between Véhonas and Nerandia but after the destruction of the latter those trade routes fell silent (also affecting the Enclave, which lies between Véhonas and Nerandia) Culture in Véhonas is very simple. Ancestors are highly honored, but not worshipped as in Qaluros. The Creator is held in reverence and awe and no Véhonan will go on a journey through the woods before asking His permission in prayer. Their lifestyle is very simple and dedicated only to staying alive. No extra frills are encouraged, except in the area of weapons, where Véhonans may possess swords and bows that their ancestors had made and passed down through the family. The people are highly emotional and value deep relationships with a few people; however they are very determined and will not stop until they have accomplished their goal, even at the risk of their life. It is this bravery that makes them unstoppable in single combat; or the chances they take at the risk of their own lives. Though in hand-to-hand combat a Véhonan could easily beat any other race except possibly a Mountain Dwarf or a Shibaar, they are very unorganized in army combat and thus can lose large portions of ground quickly. This is how Qaluros was able to overrun the entire western half of the country so easily in the Great War. This nation is based off of: Native Americans (specifically the Cheyenne) The country's Name: Véhonas The people's name: Véhonans Old Name: Kreatan -- Well, there's the nation of Véhonas...thoughts, questions? |

Wow. I don't have any questions other than if all your people came from two ancestors. |

OK, I'll try to answer this. Really, the only nation that directly sprung from Nerandia was the Enclave. All the others existed at the same time as Nerandia. Sannahet, however, was very influenced by the destruction of Nerandia and the reception of refugees. So really: the only nation that Nerandia directly created was the Enclave. So now, after the destruction of Nerandia, we've got: Sannahet (influenced by Nerandia) The Enclave (created by Nerandians) Véhonas Culvinis Qaluros Tarbiyaan The only other nation who's origin is in dispute (I haven't actually created it yet) is Tarbiyaan. It is sort of a mish-mash of people from Qaluros and Sannahet, mainly Qaluros, but over time they became a seperate race because they were blocked from Qaluros by the mountains. But even since the beginning Tarbiyaan had been at least semi-independent. I hope that makes sense! eruheran |

By two ancestors I meant human ancestors. Like When the world was created were there only two people made, and what about the dwarves? Sorry if I was unclear. |

Oh, I see. I haven't really fleshed out the Creation of Enderion or anything like that yet, it's still pretty vague in my mind. But I'll tell you what I've figured out so far. In the beginning the creator created a people called the Atí. They were perfect, but half of them rebelled, led by the influence of Srugoz, who had been cast out of heaven and given influence over the earth. Once they had rebelled the Creator cursed the earth, and called the rebels the Kutuk. The remaining faithful were called the Nomahar. The Nomahar eventually crushed the Kutuk, but since the earth had been cursed they themselves were no longer perfect, therefore as they spread out and made all the nations, they became involved in wars and disputes with one another, or, corrupted. The dwarves came about at the same time as the Atí. When the world was created, there were many different races, not just the humans. There were dwarves, eagles, Shibaar, and Deelqaaves. Human dominance of the latter three reduced their numbers and the dwarves, which ordinarily are much stronger than humans, were pushed away to small corners of the world because they had few offspring, and the humans reproduced much quicker than they. The part that I'm currently wrestling with is this part...I want to make the Shibaar, the eagles, and the deelqaves more beast-like, however, they can reason and speak. This means that they have a Spirit, and go to heaven if they believe in the Creator. Yet I don't really have any 'beasts' in my world, only 'beings' (To take Pavalini's term. Thanks! eruheran |
