Here is more information about my nation The Enclave in the world of Enderion. I've been meaning to do this for a long time since Enderion's main nation is the Enclave (it plays a large part in the history) therefore I thought it deserved it's own threads. If you want a birds-eye view of ALL the nations in Enderion, then I also have a thread for that here.

The Enclave
The Enclave is a very small nation in the southeast of the world. Both Sannahet and the Enclave inhabitants are descended from the people of Nerandia. When Nerandia was destroyed the refugees fled to Sannahet, but some of them went the other direction, received aid from the River Dwarves, and founded the Enclave.

The Enclave is a very isolationist country that does not interact much with other nations. Consider them sort of like Switzerland. They don't like fighting but when necessary the Enclave can organize themselves into a disciplined fighting troop. Their low population and natural distrust of foreigners are the main reasons they stay out of world affairs.

Despite their seeming unfriendliness, people of the Enclave are actually very friendly and outgoing. They are tall and blonde and strong. Their language is a variant of Sannahet's tongue which itself has two variants. The two countries have mutually intelligible languages but rarely speak to each other. In the final war though, they will be allies.

The Enclave is surrounded by a forest on all sides. The forest is bordered on one side by a high, old wall called the Northern Wall that was built when the Enclave was founded. The other half is bordered by the ocean, though traditionally Enclave people have very little to do with the water, except for swimming. There are no ships at the Enclave, but they do have large archery towers on the coast for defense, should the need ever arise.

The dress of the Enclave is often very ceremonial. Inhabitants favor ceremony and looks over practicability but some workers such as kitchen and field workers do wear practical clothes. Most wealthy inhabitants dress very opulently and spend a lot. Because the Enclave has never been threatened from outside, there is little reason for them to be able to move quickly in their clothes, thus, even Knights usually wear ceremonial garb instead of light fighting mail.

Government in the Enclave is relatively simple. Forsvar is the head of the Enclave, and is mainly a figurehead, though he does possess very real power that he can wield if necessary. However, most power remains in the hands of the council, a five-man group that is elected every ten years. The chairman is the head of the council but in fact is mainly the spokesperson and his power is no greater than other members. Any resident of the Enclave over eighteen years old may vote in the election of council members. Children go through a rite of passage ceremony at age eighteen. Among other privileges, the right to vote is given to them. Additionally, at age eighteen they are given the right to marry.

Success in the Enclave is generally calculated by our outward appearance of wealth and how well you have done in your work, thus encouraging the opulent lifestyle of many wealthy residents. People who are especially shunned in the Enclave are those who look after animals and those who clean things. People who cook and make things (artisans) are honored.

This nation is based off of: Switzerland/Denmark (because of the connection to Hayyim)
The country's Name: The Enclave
The people's name: People of the Enclave
Old Name: The Enclave (unchanged)

Let me know what you think! :D
