So I'm completely reworking my novel...the maps, the characters, the plot. Everything. While I'm fractalling a few of my characters, I decided to keep myself occupied by doing some of my maps up nicely. So this is the first one I've finished yet. A lot of the geography has changed pretty substantially and I've added colors, compass, and a little bit of wear and tear in the background for realism.

EDIT: Here are the updated links to the maps
Map of the Southeast of Enderion: here
Map of the West of Enderion: here
Here's the inset map of Sannahet: here
Here's the "complete" map of Enderion (the first two combined): here

The original is actually about twice as large (in pixels) and has better quality but this should be enough for y'all to see it.

Cool map! Did you use a program for that? Is this a partial world map? I see the bottom right corner looks like the land extends further south.

Thanks! I did use a program for it. Basically I drew it on paper first, just basic things like the cities, and the mountains and borders. Then I scanned it and converted all of the lines to basic black and white. Then I just added some styling to make it look better.

And, Timotheus, it is sort of a partial world map. The bottom right corner might extend further down (depending on the story) but at first I just did that because I thought it looked dumb as an island. And I'm planning on making some in-depth maps of each country that have a lot more detail.

I really like it!
How did you convert the lines to black and white? Did you use a special program?

Actually, converting the lines to black and white is the hardest part. Since I needed the lines to be editable (i.e., not just the image in black and white) I used the pencil tool to redraw everything right in my graphic. So it took a long time but it was worth it because now I can edit coastlines, etc, when I need to. I just used a graphics editing program called Fireworks, but Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw, and GIMP all have the pencil tool.

Timotheus: You went and piqued my curiosity! Made me go and make an entire another map for the east to explain the map there. And in the south, where the map still goes off of the edge...that's just another desert. So anyways, there's the east of Enderion. It's not as developed because, well, just because it's not in the book and I felt lazy that day. :D

Anyways, here's the map of the Southeast of Enderion: here
Here's the (updated) map of the West of Enderion: here
Here's the inset map of Sannahet: here
Here's the "complete" map of Enderion (the first two combined): here

I don't think I'm going to end up keeping the complete map of Enderion, mainly because the eastern part of the world does not come into the story at all...I just made it for world building purposes. Plus, the complete map file was getting so huge (about ten megabytes) that it was making my graphic editing program crash... :( So I think I'll just develop them in the smaller maps. :)

Eruheran, I am sorry to say that when I clicked on it it told me there was a Google error :( Did you take it off?

I took off the first map, since I updated it with a newer version. I'll update the first post with all the new links.

I've got a few new maps coming up later this week, hopefully. I'm working on inset maps for each nation (and former nations) that show a lot more detail in the geography and terrain, etc. I may even do a whole world map that includes topography, etc. Each nation's map (similar to the Sannahet map I already posted) will have regions in the country and some more geography information.

Stay tuned! ;)

Well, I needed some stuff to fill up the nice shiny new Enderion subforum, so I made some new maps, and put all of them together in a list at this topic. Anyways, if you want to see any more...that's the place to go. :)

Thanks Griffin! If you're brave enough, check out the new world map in my subforum. What was previously the whole world became one continent out of five so more development is coming! :D
