*hangs up sign outside virtual office* HELP WANTED!

The good news is that I'm going to publish my first book in a couple of months. The bad news is that after more than a year-and-a-half, I have yet to name my world. :bawl: ...just awful, isn't it? D:

I just can't find one that I like the ring of, and believe me, I've tried a lot. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

So do you want actual names, or suggestions for finding names? ;)

I find that Latin-esque and Old English names often work best for large things like worlds. They have that old, broad feel that (for me) just seems to sound big and grand. The country most of my novel takes place in is called Carseld, which means "home of care" in Old English. The name of my world, Eniret, is a scramble of the word "entire". (As in, the whole entire world. )

Here's a file full of Latin names for your pleasure and jumbling:

Here's a generator that has an option for Latin-type place names:

And here is my favorite Old English translator:

How exciting that your book is about to be published! What author do I look for? :D

I'll take names and suggestions. I haven't dabbled in much Latin (except for one word which turned into a great name for a planet), but I do like Old English. For some reason I'm just drawing blanks. I'll be sure to check out those sites and let you know what I come up with.

Those are clever names.

My real name (which will be on my books) is Zachary D Totah. I might go with the first and last name, or just ZD Totah.

Actually, yes. I named it Eleria. Oddly enough, now that series is on hold in favor of a shorter, less complicated trilogy, which, as you might guess, is nameless. o.O Go figure. But I'm not sure I'm going to name the entire world, just the regions/realms.

I like that name, Tarin. :) Are you hoping to go back to this series at any time?

*Chuckles* Let us know if you decide on a name for the new one! I find naming really hard too. :P Although I actually created the name for my world and worked on it, thinking it was all just for fun and I'd never use any of it; but I've ended up using a lot of the material in my fantasy novel, so the world name was used in that. :)
