Since this week's quest on the Weekly Challenge includes limericks, I thought I would make a thread for it. :D

Have you ever written limericks? Have ideas on writing them? This web page has some information to get you started.

There once was a site called HW,
Where writers wrote and could not subdue,
Until one bright day,
The penguins went to play,
And glitter turned everyone blue.

The rhythm may not be perfect, but it was fun. :D

Haha. These are fun! :D I haven't actually tried writing one before, but some of the ones in my nursery rhymes book are funny.
Is this one? :

There once was a man of Leeds,
Who swallowed six packets of seeds,
It soon came to pass,
He was covered in grass,
And he couldn't sit down for the weeds!

It goes something like that, anyway....

Oooh, nice, Twin! :D It's fine by my standards. I'm not picky on limerick rhythm. ;)

Thanks, Azlyn. It's one of my favourites out of that book. :D

My first attempt at a limerick:

There was a sweet cat called Smokey,
You certainly couldn't call her poky,
She ran rather fast,
The kids had a blast
Making her run hokey-pokey.

And my second attempt. It's not very good :?.

There once was an orange tree,
It was only orange for three,
Three months was all,
Then came the fall,
The tree then said, “Weee!”
