Okay... This is my first Xmap so don't chew me out if I fail miserably at this. :P This is one for my dragon character, Demiri.

Eyes:
Color and personality: An aquamarine aquarium taking in the first rays of sunlight as the first tourists witness the bright exhibits.
A calm ocean before the storm
Body:
Overall definition: A graceful seabird in the body of a small dragon
Athletic ability: A dog's gait
Hair:
color: a wayward explosion of sea and sun
texture: sharp yet soft
Wings: Long albatross limbs tied to the sky
Skin: A clear summer sky

Soul:
The crippled runt
A dusty cabinet
A lonely child
The solitary invert
"I am strong"
Heart:
Silent and screaming
A snake poisoning itself with its own venom

Spirit:
Creativity: Blossoming lights in the night sky
trust: a fine line
(mental) strength: refined silver

Appearance: Tranquil forest
On fire within

You're on the right track, Sea. :D If you want, I could offer some critique. I'm fairly new to essence mapping, but I've learned a few things.

:D

For the soul and spirit categories, try making them deeper, for a start. You could add categories like Depth, Clarity, etc. Try looking at other essence maps in this room for inspiration.

The appearance category can go in with body. The four categories are, from my understanding, Body, Mind, Soul, and Spirit. I would suggest adding Mind, and doing things in it like memories, depth, clarity, knowledge, etc.

That should help get you started. :D I will return later. ;)
