I meant to get back to this thread soon, but I was gone a lot this weekend. And now I'm trying to write a bit over 15 pages a day on my SF script...

What do you mean by that question? I am answering what I think you were asking, but feel free to clarify...
Yes, there are people who can reveal colors in this world, as well as some objects (i.e. I had an idea going of a gemstone that you can hold up and look through, and you can see things as they really are through it. Just yesterday I was reading Unfinished Tales, and I see that the concept is similar to that of the Elfstone, Elessar--but not the same, and developed separately...but anyway, everything is up for debate as to how it will be in the story at this point anyway).
I also have one more idea for revealing color which has two options, taht I will use either one of or both together:
(1) once upon a time, I had a story idea going with two characters, a man and his small daughter (the cutest four year old girl you ever saw) who had eyes which looked different colors depending on the angle...but straight-on, their eyes were a swirl of colors. For the man, it was a sign that he was a prophet of some kind, IIRC (I changed a ton of stuff with it over the development of the idea), but for his daughter, it was a genetic thing since she was so young. Really disconcerting, really intriguing, really interesting. That story went in the non-fantastical direction, but being as this is a color-themed story, it might work.
(2) Picking up on one line out of Lord of the Rings, in which it refers to Glorfindel's appearance being that of 'a fire thinly veiled', if I am quoting correctly [I believe that this is because Glorfindel was a first age elf who lived at the time of the Two Trees] - I was thinking of doing something similar with my angels (the Felsea, who look distinctly elvish, but do not have most elvish traits, sadly...but I am not going to write a copy of LotR, so I can't help it!) except with color - that sometimes light (which is color, incidentally) and color would be revealed in them.
I am fighting against my propensity to borrow obscure LotR things...it's so hard because sometimes I forget where I thought of something - whether it's original or I read it in one of the Histories of Middle-earth or Unfinished Tales. ;D
Haven't seen that film, but yes, that is the look I'm going for. Some really spectacular cinematography...! (it's to be both books and films, CL is...)
