So far I have Kuunadahl as a mountain range on the southern part of the main continent. This is the center of the antagonist's empire. The presence of the Dark Mirest and his magic practices has created monsters (large boar-like creatures called borusks). The people of Kuunadahl are stiff-necked fighters. Many of the young men and even a few women have pledged allegiance to the Dark Mirest, in return for the ability to ride the borusks. These people are called Riders. They are sworn protectors of the Walkers as well as the Dark Mirest most importantly. The Walkers are people turned by the Dark Mirest's black staff. They are part human part evil spirit, with the ability to pass from the physical realm (PR) to the spiritual realm (SR). In the physical realm, their main duty is procreation for the purpose of continuing the line of the Dark Mirest. (The Dark Mirest is unable to procreate because direct offspring would be too evil?). Their purpose in the spiritual realm is to develop territory and build power towards their reign in the everlife (they believe if they can win the war on Oluve, Hell can crossover to the physical realm. Other than that, I don't really know who lives in this world. There is a contingent of rebels to the Dark Mirest who want to take his staff and start a new world power. I don't expect any "other" races, though there will probably be more monsters than just the borusks. Without a white mirest for some time, I imagine the good side has gone secular in order not to be slaughtered by King Wotev. My female protagonist/sidekick has a father who used to be in the Keepers (group who protected the white mirest and his staff if he died, kind of like the Levites), but now is submitting to King Wotev's rule in Kuunadahl. |

good question, I guess they will only feed the borusks infants as monthly sacrifices, with the rest of the time maybe just hunting game and small farm animals when the need is presented. maybe the feeding of an infant is what bonds the rider to the borusk, and then is done monthly to maintain that bond. |

What is a mirest? You could have another protagonist that becomes a new White mirest. Of course, you probably already thought of that. |

Sorry, I must have missed your reply Griffin. Mirests are those who wield the mirrored staffs. I may not have explained that in my history threads. I have changed the history a little so that the white mirest that was captured was the Messiah and more on this can be found in my thread in Theology called Oluve: Messiah? The Mirests are taken from the story of Moses and his bronze serpent staff. When people looked up at God's provision, they were healed of their snake-bites. I'm currently debating if this is sufficient for salvation in my world, or if a perfect white mirest must die for the people so that they do not have to look unto the white staff to be cleansed, but rather believe in the Final Mirest (Jesus of my world). |
