Every birthday the 3Literati (unless the bday person is one of the 3Literati, in which case the other two do it without him, haha) make a banner for the birthday person, using the essence crafted by the birthday person. The essence is generally made for the birthday as a whole, and so influences the rest of the decorations as well. This was Patrick's 18th birthday one. I think I outdid myself in the creation of the banner. :D

We took them down and put them on the library wall. Before I took the above picture some of them needed to be re-taped. I was practicing shooting myself in the side of the head and staggering against the wall, and almost came away with a Greek temple stuck to my elbow.

The largest picture to the right was a cake banner that we taped up after we ate the cake. It was made by my aunt, to whom I sent the word "Russia." She did a very good job.

It was, and is, interesting to see how Jay saw the essence, since he is so good at expressing them himself.
