So, we have a thread for novel goals but....not all of us are working on novels ATM. So what's your non-novel goal?

Personally, I need to finish some worldbuilding projects for Enderion. I'm comitting to a post a week in my subforum, starting Monday. :)

Anyone else?

Andrew

* raises hand * I have a non-novel goal! (Technically speaking, I have a novel goal too...but I'm too frightened to venture into that thread and therefore tie myself to that goal...because it is a hard goal <insert shock smiley here>)

I would like to finish my short story "The Day Darkness Dawned", get it critiqued by at least five people, and then...figure what I'm going to do with it, by Christmas. :D

It's sort of a long story, but I have about half of it written so... I'm working on it - in hind sight, it was supposed to be done a month or so ago.

I also have to finish the One Hundred Theme Challenge...but that isn't a priority. :P

Aha! I hereby move my goal that is in the other thread over to this thread. *elaborate flourish*

I am writing at least one word in Murel's third chronicle a day til it is done.

@B I have to do the 100 Theme Challenge as well, but that is really low on my priorities. :P

I want to publish a book of poems with CreateSpace. . .So I suppose my non-novel goals go here. :)

Quote:
By Nov. 25, 2011: Have verses assigned to all poems.
By Dec. 25, 2011: Have poems organized.
By Jan. 5 2012: Start a thread asking for pictures of sunsets to use for the cover.
By April 25, 2012: Have everything formatted.
By May 25, 2012: Order a proof copy.

Yes, ;) this is a bit. . .audacious. . . But I figure, I have everything written, it's just putting all together. . .and ;) Since WHEN do I stick to my writing goals? Mine seem to get fudged on.

Anyway, that's what I'm aiming for, God willing.

Oh oh ooh! I have sunset pictures!! :D :salute:

*coughs* Erm. Anyway, my no-novel goal is to hopefully finish writing up my current part of Amerouk's culture. :)

*LOVES Za's goal* :dieshappy:

I want to try to publish a short horror story, Physique, sometime, but I don't have a particular date. The magazine that Jonathan suggested does not take submissions for the next couple months, so if I decide to go that route it won't be for awhile. :)

*Nibbles fingernails* Only two days till NaNo and I'm not ready yet! When I posted my other goal It was to finish that part of Amerouk's culture before NaNo, (I forgot the before part in my earlier post) but now I don't think I have time. So, I think I'm going to try to finish that part Sui-Style and write one word a day in it all during NaNo. :D

*head/desk* I just realized, I failed my goal. :P

Partially because I slept over at the Joyces house, and partially because I... uh... forgot. :P

I can't even think of another non-novel goal to make that would be simpler. :P Perhaps I'll make NaNo related goal later...

I think the former would be majorly, not partially, just to take a wild guess. ;)

My goals are to finish the other 96 1,000 word short stories I condemned myself to. :P I also have a poem floating about between my ears, and on random pages in a notebook that needs to be pinned down.

I'm going to need some poking if I'm going to get this (these?) stories done today. Tomorrow being nano and all should be sufficient motivation but I'm a little distracted by distractions...

*Pokes Vanya* ;)

I'm editing my story, I want to get the first three chapters done pretty soon; I have been working on the first today, so maybe I can have those finished by the end of November. :D Is that a non novel goal? :/

Yes, I have one short story I'm supposed to finish before tomorrow and then I found another one that I want to type up and write an ending for too so I'd kind of like to do them both today.

It's ok if you missed one day, just try it again tomorrow! My suggestion is go write a word now while you are thinking about it. :)

No... Since NaNo is coming up in a half-hour anyways, I'll just cut that goal for now. :)

Well, I failed my goal of one word a day during NaNo. :P But I think I made up for it this morning when I was stuck on writing historical fiction and wrote half a world building post. :)

How is everyone else doing on their goals, now that we've let you run amuck without supervision through November? :D

I don't have an official goal for this yet, but I want to work on my notes and plot-planning for "Faded" throughout December. I think I want to rewrite it in January, so I need to figure out my plot, as well as probably do a bit more world-building.

I also need to keep up with posting one world-building article a week on my blog, whether that be from Erde or my co-authored steampunk universe, so that will keep me world-building a little, anyway. :D

Well, my goal setting for this is actually in the other thread, but that's because this thread didn't exist back when I was working on this story.

How Peliodares Came to Yen was finished on October 31st, as promised, and is now typed up for viewing purposed. :D

*is back with a new goal*

My new goal is to finish up with the first draft of Beorn's character fractal. :D

(notice there isn't any deadline attached to that goal ;))

My goal is to do more world building. :P I need to finish that one I started, and keep going with the culture and other things so that I can finally start writing the story. So I'm hoping to do one post a week in my subforum during NaNoFiMo. :)

Nope... ;)

Not until my plate has less on it anyways. :P

Great! I'll look forward to it!

*plate has become slightly less full*

I set an unofficial date for finishing up Beorn's fractal on Buzz, but my plate still isn't small enough that I would be willing to commit to it.

My goal is to get a subforum. Really, all I need is a kick... and a map. :P *dislikes maps*

(And get those sketches done for Cat and make that drawing of Doctor Who for that contest on HWSF and get some of those half-dozen half-finished blog posts finished and finish reading those three books without checking out another one from the library and not fainting. Not fainting is most important.)

That might be the only Toy Story reference I have ever understood.
