Sylphs are the air people. They can appear out of the air at will.

The sylphs’ eyes are usually pale blue, white or grey. They are small, and almost slit-like. The most unusual thing about their eyes is that the pupils are unusually large, while the irises are unusually small. Their noses are long and thin, while their mouths are short and thin. The sylphs’ faces are long, thin, and angular, with high cheekbones. Their ears are flat against their head and slightly pointed. The females’ hair is shoulder length, while the males’ is closely cropped. Their hair is straight and white, or nearly white. The sylphs’ bodies are tall, slim and slightly angular with pale skin.

The female sylphs’ clothing is made out of wispy white, light blue, or grey fabric. It is comprised of a loose fitting dress, loosely belted at the waist. The males’ clothing is also white, light blue, or grey, but is a somewhat heavier fabric. It is comprised of a tunic and pants.

The sylphs’ speech is soft and swift, and they like to speak in riddles. They prefer not to speak, but when they do, it is hard to stop them. Their movements are fluid and swift.

Sylphs are somewhat scatterbrained and impatient. They are usually callous, but when they do feel, it is passionate. They are hasty, but at the same time shy and quiet.

Sylphs like cold and dry, white and blue. They have a weakness for wind chimes and circle shaped objects. They dislike warmth and dampness and immobile objects. They also don’t like pointy objects and black and red.

Ice, water and diamonds are beneficial for their health. However, fire and rubies can be damaging and/or lethal.

Sylphs can be subdivided into four sub-races: wind, breeze, gale and tornado. I won’t get into them now, but if you’re interested…maybe in the future!

The things I have outlined here are what is usually the case. It is possible for sylphs to differ from this description. Those who do are either shunned or adored, depending on the case. If you have any questions about why I made them a certain way, ask away! It will help me to solidify them

Interesting motif.

This oddly parallels a sword-fighting concept that I learned: there are three basic tactics; fire (aggressive), water (passive), wind (freedom), stone/earth (highly defensive).

So, will the fourth people be earth themed?

What are their musical inclinations, if any?

Redemption is to be purchased, to have a price paid. So I was redeemed from my master sin, and from justice, which demanded my death. For He paid the price of sin by becoming sin, and met the demands of justice by dying for us.

For all men have a master. But a man cannot have two masters. For he will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and sin. So I die to the old, as He died, and I am resurrected to the new, as He was resurrected.

Note: Ebed is Hebrew for bondsman, Eleutheros is Greek for unrestrained (not a slave).

The fourth people will be dryads, which are tree people, but in my case I'm using them because trees have to do with earth. I thought the four Greek elements were cool, so I incorporated that into my races. You can see the introduction I did on them here ( http://aloveofbooks.wordpress.com/2010/ ... roduction/ )

The sylphs with musical inclinations would use Aeolian harps, wooden flutes, and sing.

I like them! :D Would they lean towards evil or good? Is there any way you could rearrange the things that effect health so that each of the Greek elements is only used once, just a suggestion? The individual sub-groups would be cool in this. How do you figure which shapes to use for which peoples?

All of my races, with the exception of the Destroying Races, are good.

What I'm trying to do with the health is use things that would actually effect the 'element' itself (with the exception of the gems, of course)

By this do you mean that you would like me to post about them? :D

I use the shape that the 'element' makes me think of. For instance, fire makes me think of triangles, so the tiains like triangles.

Yeah, that's what I figured. It was just a suggestion, because none of the of the races weakened under wind.

Well, the sylphs are air-people, not wind-people, and the taians are affected by air.
